To say what's unpopular makes you unhinged to the crowd.

An awful amount of the red letter words of Jesus to the Jewish Leaders was unhinged, eh?

Never good when the professional liars are starting the CYA.

I wonder what next weeks Iran "Unconditional Surrender" Peace President will say.

I'm fairly familiar with the red letter words of Jesus, along with those written by his disciples, and what comes through to me is that he was, as John put it, "full of truth and grace". As for the Jewish leaders and the crowds, far from seeing him as unhinged, the leaders appeared to regard him as a powerful threat to their authority as he exposed their hypocisy and drew crowds of followers from the common people. So no "eh?" about it. I don't see the Jewish leaders or the crowds regarding Jesus as unhinged. Rather it was the connections he claimed he had and revealed through the truth and grace present in his speech and actions that had the leaders muttering and plotting to get rid of him, and the crowds following him and wanting to make him King.

I'm not surprised at the possibility of ass covering involved in the current war. And I too wonder as well what President Trump will do and say next? What I'm looking and hoping for is light in darkness, and I don't know yet know who or what the next "tool" will be or look like.

Matthew 26:

…64“You have said it yourself,” Jesus answered. “But I say to all of you, from now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of heaven.” 65At this, the high priest tore his clothes and declared, “He has blasphemed! Why do we need any more witnesses? Look, now you have heard the blasphemy. 66What do you think?” “He deserves to die,” they answered.…

Matthew 27
24When Pilate saw that he was accomplishing nothing, but that instead a riot was breaking out, he took water and washed his hands before the crowd. “I am innocent of this man’s blood,” he said. “You bear the responsibility.” 25 All the people answered, “His blood be on us and on our children!” 26So Pilate released Barabbas to them. But he had Jesus flogged, and handed Him over to be crucified.…

Are you aware of the importance of "His blood be upon us and our children" IS?

Acceptance of the blame and PUNISHMENT for their whole family line.

Yeah Jesus DID make them UNHINGED

It wasn't Jesus who made them unhinged. Those who were leading the charge and inciting the crowd at that trial did so in a calculated manner, driven by their own fears, based on their own perceptions.

The following, from the same two chapters, sets the scene:

Matt 26:3-5 Then the chief priests and the elders of the people assembled in the palace of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas, 4 and they schemed to arrest Jesus secretly and kill him. 5 “But not during the festival,” they said, “or there may be a riot among the people.”
Matt 26:59 59 The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for false evidence against Jesus so that they could put him to death. 60 But they did not find any, though many false witnesses came forward. Finally two came forward...
Matt 27:1 Early in the morning, all the chief priests and the elders of the people made their plans how to have Jesus executed.
Matt 27: 17-20 So when the crowd had gathered, Pilate asked them, “Which one do you want me to release to you: Jesus Barabbas, or Jesus who is called the Messiah?” 18 For he knew it was out of self-interest that they had handed Jesus over to him. While Pilate was sitting on the judge’s seat, his wife sent him this message: “Don’t have anything to do with that innocent man, for I have suffered a great deal today in a dream because of him.”
20 But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowd to ask for Barabbas and to have Jesus executed.

Note the behind the scenes scheming, promotion of self interest, search for false evidence, and desire/ability on the part of the leaders to sway and persuade the crowd, set forth in that account. With this as one of the questions that comes to mind: Were those leaders Unhinged or functioning as Questionable Tools? Who knows?

I believe art and cartoons offer an invitation/opportunity to consider, question and affirm or possibly shift one"s perseptions.
