On Up, Down, Ready & Digging

After reading a comment from a previous post, about how "the Dems are just digging that hole deeper" in regard to their shutdown response, I started looking for cartoons to support the notion of multiple digging efforts relentlessly going on at once. I already had a post title of One Hole & Another, in mind.  But I decided to change directions after watching a video of Hakeem Jeffries calling Karoline Leavitt sick and saying "she's out of control and I'm not sure if she's just demented, ignorant, a stone cold liar, or all of the above."  In addition to more digging in effect, it's starting to look as though a high chair may be more elevating than the hoped for lift!

Matt Margolis at Instapundit has Karoline's response, in which she "fires back" and concludes "by calling on Democrats to end the filibuster of the continuing resolution, open up the government, and 'stop simping to try to get your radical left-wing base to like you.'”

Simping!  Hmmm.  All of which leads me to wonder if On Digging & Simping might be another title that would work!

Think the word is simpering (I will happily stand corrected).

I'd not run into it before her use of it.

According to AI "Simping" is a slang term for someone who is overly submissive or attentive to a person they are attracted to in hopes of gaining their affection, often to the point of self-disrespect"
Well that was my first try, with the 2nd attempt yielding slightly different wording, describing "simping" as "a slang term for showing excessive and unreciprocated devotion or attention to someone, often with the hope of winning their affection. It implies doing "too much" to please a person, such as showering them with gifts or constant messages, even when their feelings aren't returned. While sometimes used humorously, the term is often used in a negative or mocking way to suggest a lack of self-respect or an unhealthy dependence on another person's approval."

Urban Dictionary says it's simping when you infatuate over women, allowing them to take over your mind and cause you to do things for them that you wouldn't normally do.

Either way, it wasn't in my vocabulary, but I liked her use of it, hearing it as one of those words that cuts through the flow of blablabla and demands notice.
