This is my favorite baseball player. He was two great things. Of course, he was a Yankee. But can guess the other thing?

Frank Tepedino, whose Wikipedia entry is poorly written, lists him as a former left-handed ballplayer - what, did he switch to right-handed?
He was a firefighter from Brooklyn, he is 77 years old and was drafted by the Orioles, which makes him okay in my book.
