It's like the old story of a TX judge named Robert Williamson, known as Three-Legged Willie since he was born with a deformed right leg which was supported by a peg leg, which stuck out behind, hence the nickname.
In the days of the TX republic, Three-Legged Willie was assigned the task of sorting out a county feud. When he convened his court, one of the feudists slammed down a Bowie knife and roared, "This is the law out hyar", to which Three-Legged Willie drew his Colt Navy revolver and answered, "And this is the Constitution that overrules your law".
