On Bottom Lines & Moving Forward

Today's article on "Election Day 2024: What's Going To Happen? And How Did We Get Here?" by Andrew Stiles, in the Washington Free Beacon, lifted my mood.  I appreciated his summation along with his conclusion, with his final, bottom line statement, "It's going to be OK", what I've committed to believe and hold going forward.

After reading edutcher's post and link on outrage, hate and destruction, I looked up hate to find the picture/graph below.  It fit with my own understanding of hate as a combination of anger, fear and shame compressed into outrage and resentment to result in hate as an attempt to hold on to a sense of power.  Hate is inwardly corrosive, outwardly destructive, and addictive in that it temporarily fills a void yet constantly needs to be fed.  What to do with it when it shows up is the question?

I'm on my way to the studio to attempt to focus on something creative before coming back home to take in the election results. Even though it's hard to live out, what I know to be true is this: entering into life in whatever way possible, small or large, as a Creator, Challenger or Coach is far more effective than swirling around in the ongoing drama that comes with engaging in the roles/behavior of a Victim's helplessness, a Persecutor's hatred, or Rescuer's co-dependence.  I choose to believe Love & Light, Grace & Truth, Mercy & Justice matter and will continue to make a difference for good, regardless of who manages to win this election.  May God Bless America.
