On Reap & Release

Remember when Chuck Schumer stood on the steps of the Supreme Court and said, “I want to tell you Gorsuch, I want to tell you Kavanaugh, you have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price. You won't know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions."?  That pronouncement took place four years ago, on June 8th of 2020, with Schumer using the phrase "released the whirlwind" to conveying his convictions about what was to come. 

Eighty four years ago this month, while visiting Coventry after the city was razed on Nov 14, 1940 in an 11 hour raid involving nearly 500 Luftwaffe bombers, Churchill quoted this verse from Hosea 8.7: “They have sown the wind, they shall reap the whirlwind.”  

While the two quotes may sound somewhat similar, they're not. Reaping is different from releasing.

Over the river and through the woods to Grandmother's house

OK, we all know there's a lot of loneliness out there. The Left has been doing its best to destroy the family, nucular and extended, for 50 years or so. Add to that the separation of miles in the name of finding a job and a lot of people need somebody. We are, after all, pack, if not herd, animals. 

Some turn to false voices, partly because they promise everything. Fortune, success, love, family, and everything else. They've been particularly successful with women. 

Feminism, like Black Power, La Raza, revolting students, Gay Is Good, and all the other dodges dreamed up by Yuri Andropov when he was head of the KGB, calls to those who felt, for right or wrong, alienated. After a couple of generations, blacks, Hispanics, and some women and students have seen that, for all that was promised, little was delivered.

These were the voices, mainly female and homosexual, screaming into their phones on November 6 and since. They still believe the lies and women, most especially, seem to feel like they must strike out because they did not win.

This is the crowd that is looking into the mirror asking, "So, is it me, the cat, and the vibrator for the rest of my life?". And the false voices still lead them astray. No men, they say; no women, especially white, who voted for Trump, cut yourself off from the family for Thanksgiving (and Christmas, New Year's, St Swithin's). They want them to tell black or Hispanic friends who went for Trump that's not the way minorities should act.

I expect the suicide rate will skyrocket before too long.

A lot of people had fun watching the hissy fits, but there comes a time when you have to see a lot of these people as terribly broken human beings (maybe that's what differentiates us from them) and you feel badly for them.

All of the "causes" I mentioned above had their "other", their Emanuel Goldstein, and it usually boiled down to straight white male, Conservative, church going, working. Someone to blame.

I know family gatherings can sometimes seem like the Battle of the Bulge, but I do hope there are people who can negotiate a truce, even if it means acknowledging that Uncle Harry really is a jerk, and to get him to just smile and say nothing for once.

They may be crazy cat ladies, but they're still people.

Hate didn't get them anywhere

so the Demos are trying spite.

Having seen their best efforts to steal another election foiled, the Democrat party, mostly in the form of Chuckie Schumer, is doing everything it can to give the incoming Administration a much harder row to hoe.

The worst is the nonsense taking place in what passes for foreign policy. The body double in Brazil wouldn't even acknowledge the press. Undoubtedly, because they were sure to ask what the Hell his masters thought they were doing giving American missiles to the corrupt regime in Ukraine and then giving them permission to fire them into Russian territory.

As one might imagine, Vladimir Putin is more than a little perturbed about this (and I'll bet you thought you'd never side with a Russian dictator). He's rattling the expected saber, approving lowering the criteria for a Russian nucular strike on the US. Our crack National Security Council of Winken, Blinken, and Nod saw no reason to change US criteria.

Add to that the hoohah earlier this year over the Demos wanting to bring back the draft, not only for all those patriotic Lefties in man buns, but for all those wxmyn with shaved heads, blue bracelets, Handmaid's Tale garb, and general psychopathy. Yes, kids, your kids, all of them, may soon be singing something like, "Good Bye, Mama, I'm Off To Yokohama", or something that rhymes with Kharkov.

I'm wondering if a march on DC with the aim of taking and holding the halls of Congress until 1/20/25 might be needed. I mean the 1st Amendment is back with us.

If not, there might be more than a tiny elf and 8 tiny reindeer coming over the Pole this Christmas.

My old arithmetic teacher, if he's still alive, would swoon if he saw this

I did some math on the '20 election and the numbers come out interesting.

There were 258 million Americans of voting age in '20 and 168 million registered to vote in '20*. That pretty much dovetails with the rule of thumb in American politics that says 2/3 of those eligible are registered and, on Election Day (President, of course), turnout is ~50%.

Now, the number of votes by which the Demos fell short this year is between 15 and 18 million. So subtract 18 (why not?) from Idiot's 81 million and you get 63 million. Which doesn't add up if Pew's 66% turnout is accurate. More to the point, to get 155 million votes total, you'd need ~90% turnout.

If Trump got 74 million and 2/3 of 168 is ~112 million, it means Brandon only gets ~38 million. So where did the other 25 million go? One answer may be all those voting machines flipping R votes. We know it was an issue.

Even better, since turnout is usually 50 - 55%, half of 168 means 84 million votes in '20, giving the lying dogfaced pony soldier only 10 million (which makes a lot more sense if you look at the county map).

Maybe it's time to make vote fraud a Federal crime**.

And a capital one.

* There are differentiations between voting age and voting eligible populations in some searches. In '20, the voting eligible population was 239 million and the number of registered voters was 160 (still comes out to 2/3) , but, do the math, and it's clear, even with 2/3 turnout, total is 107 million, so Brandon only got 32 million. That makes it 50 million off. To get 155 million votes would mean turnout of 97%!

Saw this on Insty


 

True in so many ways. One of the members of The Blonde's sorority died a few weeks back and I always remember the 50th birthday party they threw her with all the sisters getting up and dancing to "We Are Family".

Same with the election. Suddenly we have brothers and sisters and friends we never knew we had. I don't usually say stuff like this, but I feel so honored to have been an even infinitesimal part of it all.

A friend of a friend rehomed her cat to my house - she is my new old cat.

MamaM's post has inspired me to write a post that I have been thinking about for a while. This blog has been part of my life for longer than I can remember and I have encountered some remarkable folks here.


First and foremost, the late, great Chip Ahoy. He has been gone for years now but his work, both here and IRL, sticks with me. He was as creative and productive a human as I have ever encountered. When his brother posthumously posted links to works Chip had not posted here I was blown away - what a wide range of interests and what a remarkable set of skills he had. I am sure he is greatly missed by everyone who knew him.


Next, of course, The Trooper - now there is a guy who has been shouldering a mighty load here. He needs to pop up and post more of his writing, and I am sure he will in his own good time. I want to know how some of those stories turn out!


The other day I read about two new super heavy elements - 119 and 120 - ununennium and unbinilium respectively. I would have named the latter unobtainium, but that name is already taken. That story reminded me of our resident chemist and grammar genius, Chicklit. I miss his writing and I hope he is doing well with his new venture and in his new location. Every time I saw some aromatic White Oak or apply some Waterlox to a finished product I am reminded of him. 


Evi L. Bloggerlady, the floofy red cow who got his name from the sobriquet that Trooper applied to a certain communist blogger still comments and blogs. He's a funny guy. 


Various commenters here have popped up on other sites - I used to see RicPic's comments over at Instapundit, but I haven't seen his name over there in a year. Michael Haz still shows up occasionally, which is good. The woman from Colorado who is now known as Hunter'sHooker still comments over there - she's pretty funny. 


Others have disappeared into the ether of the internet. TT Burnett - gone. The woodworker up in Maine, no trace of him. 


And so it goes with life. 


One of my classmates just returned from a visit to Minnesota and she brought me some wild rice that is produced up in Bemidji - guess what I am having for supper!


*Update - I forgot to mention that I have now met two people associated with this blog in real life - as you might imagine, they are awesome people. Carry on!

A special shout-out to the One Who Set Up This Blog & the Mostly Quiet One who keeps it running.  I'm grateful for both.  Also deeply appreciative of the cartoonists whose Art & Insights helped me keep faith.  Having the opportunity to look for and freely post material that allowed me to express what I was experiencing, was key in making it through the last four years of Deceit, Challenge, Peculiarity & Wonderment.   I'm also thankful for the One Commenter & Sometimes Poster who faithfully finds something to add to the mix, along with the many silent 1's & 2's who stop by to take a look.  It's been quite a run, with much to celebrate as we enter into another era of Resolve & Restructure, Challenge & Change!

Hopefully, the last (for a while)

OK, Trump has his 312 electoral votes, which includes no less than 8 states flipped. All things being equal, an impressive win.

But things might have been better. Jason Meister, Trump's polling guru, thought he'd hit between 308 and (are you ready?) 400 electoral votes. Insane, you say? Well, when you consider he came very close in Jersey and pretty close in, of all places, IL, it may not have been so crazy, after all.

For a laugh, I made a list of states the Trump campaign thought doable and, yeah, it would have made 400.

NY - 28

NJ - 14

NH - 4

ME - 4

NM - 5

CO - 10

VA - 13

MN - 10

A quickie (or quiche, if you prefer)

Next time somebody tries to tell you there was no vote fraud in '20, hit 'em with the graphic from this clip from Sundance. Much like the WMDs in Iraq turned out to be real, '20 really was stolen.

PS For the record, 258 million people eligible to vote in '20; 168 million registered to vote in '20; turnout is supposed to be 66%.

Fake News says Trump got 74 million votes; Idiot got 81 million. 155 out of 168 is ~90%, not 66.

Do.

The.

Math.

PPS The last election with 60% or better turnout was 1960. Also, the only other election where the "winner" didn't carry OH. Usual turnout is ~50%.

On Out, In & All About

 






 MI and WI? Really? Did the voters in those two states suddenly sober up or what?

Something just hit me

Not gloating here, but it just occurred to me.

There's an old truism in American politics that you can't win the White House if you don't win OH. 2 people are claimed to have done this. One was Jack Kennedy. Richard J Daley had to bring in the graveyard vote for his pal, Old Joe Kennedy. The other was the lying dogfaced pony soldier who needed 7 states to manufacture millions of fake ballots* at 4AM.

Now consider this. Jack Kennedy was assassinated. Brandon's mind and physical abilities deteriorated to the point that they needed body doubles to cover for him. If Laura Loomer is right (and I think she is), he's either dead or in an extended care facility for what's left of his life.

Maybe God metes out his own justice.

Off Gateway This may explain some pundits wondering where 15 million Democrat votes went.

PS FWIW If NV, AZ, and AK come through, he'll finish with 312 electoral votes.

Keep that in mind. Remember what happened on J6. Those people just wanted an audit of the vote and came to DC to exercise their Constitutional right to peaceably assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. 

They didn't hurt anyone; that was the work of the Ice Cream Queen's Sturm Abteilung.

They did not break in to the Capitol; they were let in. 

They did not destroy anything, that was the work of the Ice Cream Queen's provocateurs; in fact, Ashli Babbitt smacked one of them in the head when he tried to break up stuff on the Ice Cream Queen's desk (it's on tape).

We can only hope she, Roseanne Boyland, Kevin Greason, and Benjamin Philipps get the justice they so richly deserve.

The only insurrection was that of the Democrat party.

That said, never forget that, until we hear the words, "I, Donald Trump, do solemnly swear...", this is a long way from over. Several Democrats have promised they want to find a way to derail Trump ever entering the White House. I think using the 34 counts won't fly since a NY appellate court tossed the convictions, but they'll try something.

Stay tough. Stay strong. Stay alert. Be thankful.

And, oh, yes, I love the smell of schaudenfreude in the morning.

On Bottom Lines & Moving Forward

Today's article on "Election Day 2024: What's Going To Happen? And How Did We Get Here?" by Andrew Stiles, in the Washington Free Beacon, lifted my mood.  I appreciated his summation along with his conclusion, with his final, bottom line statement, "It's going to be OK", what I've committed to believe and hold going forward. 

After reading edutcher's post and link on outrage, hate and destruction, I looked up hate to find the picture/graph below.  It fit with my own understanding of hate as a combination of anger, fear and shame compressed into outrage and resentment to result in hate as an attempt to hold on to a sense of power.  Hate is inwardly corrosive, outwardly destructive, and addictive in that it temporarily fills a void yet constantly needs to be fed.  What to do with it when it shows up is the question?  


I'm on my way to the studio to attempt to focus on something creative before coming back home to take in the election results. Even though it's hard to live out, what I know to be true is this: entering into life in whatever way possible, small or large, as a Creator, Challenger or Coach is far more effective than swirling around in the ongoing drama that comes with engaging in the roles/behavior of a Victim's helplessness, a Persecutor's hatred, or Rescuer's co-dependence.  I choose to believe Love & Light, Grace & Truth, Mercy & Justice matter and will continue to make a difference for good, regardless of who manages to win this election.  May God Bless America.

On Good Shots & Squirrels All the Way Down

 




I'd like you to read something.

It's not that long a read, but it encapsulates something I've said here and elsewhere on more than a few occasions. It's the latest column by Sultan Knish and it expands on something I've noticed.

To be a good Lefty, you have to be a good hater.

Greenfield has taken a few of Thomas Sowell's thoughts and developed them into a full thesis. Read it and I think you will be nodding your head in agreement as I did. It reminds me of Dwight Eisenhower's line after he'd seen Buchenwald - "I want every man who isn't on the line to see this. They say our men don't know what they're fighting for. Well now they're going to see what they're fighting against".

PS Anybody hear about Peanut the Squirrel? If so, that is the kind of petty, jack-booted government the Democrats have been practicing since Waco.

Ike would understand.


On Alternating Between Hope & Resignation

 


Whatever happens, those who care about the outcome of our 2024 election are in for a November Surprise of one kind or another. 

Yesterday as I was working on my red placemats, with my mind freewheeling in the quiet flow that comes with project work, words from a song I'd sung with my high school choir (1970-1972) came back to me.  Since I don't believe I've sung or even thought about that song in the fifty plus years since I last sang it, I felt somewhat surprised and unsettled when "Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me" came to mind.  

I couldn’t remember all the words, and when I looked up the lyrics, I learned the song had been written in 1955 by a woman, Jill Jackson Miller, who’d had a spiritual awakening following a suicide attempt after a failed marriage.  The wiki also said that Mahalia Jackson had performed it in Berlin in 1967.  

And that mention of Berlin caught my attention as MrM had been stationed at the Tempelhof Air Force base in the divided city of West Berlin, East Germany, after enlisting in '72 when his draft number came up high.  With not much to do off base, he spent most of his spare time bartending at the NCO club, collecting wooden antique German clocks, and eventually sending a total of 30 wall, mantle and grandfather clocks back home in the crates he built in the base woodshop.

Today the Berlin Wall is down, and Tempelhof is closed, but most of the clocks are still with us, solid and silent since we gave up on the winding, ticking, and chiming a while back.  And here I am pondering a future I could not have begun to imagine back when I was singing hopeful songs with the choir, wondering what’s yet to come?  What will this election bring?  Is it still possible for an individual’s contribution to matter and make a difference for good?  

All of which brings me back (Weave Style!) to a woman on the brink of suicide who didn’t know she’d be writing a song that would be sung around the world (including Berlin) and continue to be sung world wide years after her death in 1995 at age 82. Below is the recording of Mahalia singing that song in Berlin in 1967. It begins with her in rehearsal and 1:50 marks the start of the live performance of her expressing her heartfelt desire in song, for Peace on Earth.  


On the history of Tempelhof Airport/Base:   Tempelhof was opened in the 1920s as the airport for Berlin, which was then extended several times. At the end of the Second World War in 1945, the field was first occupied by Soviet troops, who handed it over to US troops shortly afterwards. During the Berlin Airlift in 1948/49, Tempelhof was the most important airfield for supplying the city's western sectors by air. In the following years, intensive civil air traffic developed here until it was moved to the Tegel airport in 1974. The airfield thus became a pure US military airfield again. With the reunification in 1990 and the withdrawal of the US units, Tempelhof Airport was again used for civilian purposes until it was closed on 30 October 2008. On 24 November 2008 the last aircraft left the airport, which had already been officially closed. The airfield building was now used for events and the area has been converted to a recreational park.

Is this a November surprise?

Off Breitbart, this drops at a propitious time. The Lefties are going all orgasmic at a Marist poll that shows Chlamydia leading in the Blue Wall (actually, it's the Vote Fraud Wall, but we'll hit that later), albeit within the MOE. Nothing to justify the numbers, of course, since the week's been all Trump, but the sheep need something to get them out on Tuesday.

Anywho, what we have is a House report detailing how Joe and the Ho coordinated with the UN to bring in illegals by the million. Using taxpayer dollars, of course. This oughta bump turnout on the Right.

That Marist poll may be at the bottom of Chlamydia's birdcage by Sunday.

Every once in a while, somebody really comes up with the perfect metaphor. This is one of those whiles.

It's a longish piece, well done, that illustrates where the Demos are going. But the tagline is what grabs me.

How can you outdo Robespierrian Harvest? Especially since it's already begun? Remember, La Terreur was mostly by denunciation. More to the point, the Gestapo wasn't that big. It relied on snitches, rather than troops of agents.
