Just Dropped in...

I was not familiar with Lynda Kay until I saw her singing in Season Three of Goliath.

Now I am a fan. I have set up a Pandora account and I am really enjoying her stuff. Very heavy on the Roy Orbison covers which is all to the best.

Highly reccomended.

She did a great job on that show, and there were some other outstanding performances in that season. Shamier Anderson played twin brothers, one of whom was deaf, having lost his hearing when his demented mother drove their car off a bridge into a body of water.

I have been studying ASL for 6 years and I always like to see how actors handle signing when, obviously, they have a limited amount of time to learn the nuances and culture of the deaf.

He did okay, using exaggerated gestures to indicate his annoyance and agitation with his twin. But even more interesting, was his change of posture when portraying the brothers, who, after the accident were no longer twins.

Amy Brenneman's signing was less precise, but still intelligible.

All-in-all, a creepy, yet compelling season. I always liked the Central Valley and seeing it again, even on tv, was a good thing.
