How about the wisdom of stopping twelve feet from the spot where the person you're picking up for a ride is standing and making them walk to the car?? Worth another crack on the head for sure.
An older and wiser man and a younger man. Tony always looked at Christopher kind of like a son and treated him with the dose of reality that a father is supposed to deliver to a son and which he never told his own son.
Two males both running high on the emotions driving their responses.
Neither appears to know how to integrate emotion with reason to form the healthy, thoughtful, productive adult responses needed to lead without bullying and to take direction without enabling, fawning or mindless compliance.
Christopher was addicted to heroin and that was spinning his world out of control. At this point Tony didn't know. When he did find out, the intervention was one of the best scenes ever on film or tape.
