I do love the 70s, when men could wear tiny sequined matador jackets, or whatever that is, and still be men.

Remember when Robert Plant wore blouses?

The video is great of example of how tightly drummer Bonzo and guitarist Page fed off each other. Some have said that was the key to the Zeppelin sound.

Hell. Now men can wear bras and still be whatever they tell you they are.

General Motors has announced an all electric future. Is it good PR, especially for GM, to display your models with parts missing?

amper, I thought the link would show Duane Bobbitt.

All electric is so lame. WE'll be forced to buy rare earth mineral cars with batteries that are horrible for the environment. Where are these rare earth minerals mined?
China.

Is it any wonder the democrats are pushing this?

Once again, no one would mistake Robert Plant "wearing" (more like festooning) a "blouse" (probably belonged to the chick he was boning earlier) for a soy boy.
Then, it went without saying despite the garish/crazy outfits. Now, the hyper-literal conformists insist on informing you in multiple formats about their identity.

"The Ocean" lists Bonzo as first writer. I'm thinking Page was giving him his due during the performance.

More disturbing than the blouse is the cucumber Plant has tucked away.

I'm not keen on men wearing tight pants - even if you're a guy with a large package.
It's nice to have a large package - good for you - very sexy - but I don't want to be staring at it all night. thank you.

Robert Plant was very sexy back then. Despite his large bulge packed in tight levis.

The same way I don't want to see a woman's camel toe - I don't want to see the outline of your balls.

I'm prude like that.

Amartel said...

I just noticed there's a rip in his jeans which is in danger of delivering the package in an unwrapped state. Those darn rockstars!

The Red Hot Chili Peppers figured it all out once. Show off your hot sexy rock & roll young-man body by wearing a tub-sock. No silly bulges or rips... no teasers or BS outfit malfunctions. The simplicity of the tube sock. Singular in it's identity.

Amartel said...

True dat.

Joe Biden, America's Putin said...

Tho - imagine Robert Plant rocking a tube sock. hmmm.

Joe Biden, America's Putin said...

NO - just no!

I never knew a tube sock was a thing, so to speak. I don't follow pop music all that closely so I missed that. Now, sadly, I have been made aware.

I was reading about RHCP and once again, I knew nothing of them. I have seen Flea in movies, but had no idea he was in a band.

But back to the subject at hand - yeah, I was there. And since I was never a fan of the Zep you know who I think was the better band that night. And I kept my socks right where they belonged - on my feet.

Some dude asked his bro what was his trick for picking up chicks on the beach. The bro told him if all else fails put a potato in your trunks. The next time they me on the beach the dude told the bro he followed his instructions but whenever he approached a chick she ran like hell. The Bro said "Jeez Dude! you're supposed to put the potato in front!"

The Dude said...

I like that joke. I have told that joke. Classic jokes are the best.

Joe Biden, America's Putin said...

hahaha - Potato in the front.

I don't know if everyone has the same screen-still shot of Robert Plane & Page as I do - but even Jimmy Page is looking in the direction of the bulge. That's the problem - there's no where else to look. It's like the ballet.

Sixty, I'm impressed you saw that double bill. I wonder if you remember as little of it as I do of the night I saw Frank Zappa in Boulder.

I saw The Mothers of Invention play at Johns Hopkins back in '67. I remember all of that. I remember the Zep/Who concert pretty darned well, mainly how little I liked The Zep and why are those dudes still on the stage - Who!, damnit, Who!

I was a big Who fan, back in those days, had several of their albums, but the Zep seemed like a knockoff of the Who. Thank goodness I have moved on - now I listen to neither! And get off my lawn!

Some Seppo said...

LOL, I listen to all three while I'm out in the car. And I'll keep the car off your lawn.

Rick Beato thinks that one of the problems with modern rock players is that they don't have a connection to the Blues any more. I've always enjoyed Blues and those heavily influenced by that genre such as Led Zeppelin. Plus I love listening to a great drummer like Moonie and Bonzo.

I have a GenX friend who is in a cover band and he isn't into the Blues at all and prefers Prog rock, although many of the songs they do are Blues-adjacent.

Bonzo's playing was bone to Page's flesh. Like hard and soft tissue.

If I was to wear women's clothing, it would have to be a Muumuu, which I would rock.
