Ezra Pound's response to “Sumer Is Icumen In”:
Winter is icummen in,
Lhude sing Goddamm.
Raineth drop and staineth slop,
And how the wind doth ramm!
Sing: Goddamm.
Skiddeth bus and sloppeth us,
An ague hath my ham.
Freezeth river, turneth liver,
Damn you, sing: Goddamm.
Goddamm, Goddamm, 'tis why I am, Goddamm,
So 'gainst the winter's balm.Sing goddamm, damm, sing Goddamm.
Sing goddamm, sing goddamm, DAMM.
Here's another (rather bizarre) picture from the site where I swiped the one at the top.

The Good Old Days really were.
Funny thing is, ed, 2020 is the good old days, at least when compared to what we have in store for us in 2021.
How does edutcher see Good Old Days in that?? All I see is wet slop and misery, apropos of the sentiments expressed in the poem.
Ahah! I followed the link. Could it have been the shot of "A lucky lady catches a ride with a smiling gentleman outside City Hall as others trudge by during a snowy day in 1947" that touched his gallant heart?
We are in for change, that's for sure.
It took following the other link for me catch on that Mumpsimus and Pound had not only nailed the season but circled us back to the other gallant but wind releasing hart from another time.

People were happier then. They saw the beauty in the moment. They also had a sense of humor.
