It looks like he split the other guy's neck from his shoulder with his right knee. The guy down was out before he went down and before the "winner" pummeled his unconscious face.
I was wondering what the knockout blow was - the pounding once the guy was unconscious on the mat was gratuitous, but without slo-mo I can't see precisely how dude rendered his opponent insensate. Good vertical is about all I see.
chick, if your ugh comment is about the pummeling of the unconscious opponent, I get it. But the move itself, that surprise leap with the intent of knocking the opponent on his back and then pummeling him, that seems like a legit move to me.
His smiling confidence before the bell was unnerving, as if he pitied the guy for what was about to happen. It was like he was preparing to shoot an unarmed man but had no hard feelings because it was just something that he had to do.
The winner had no teeth, or few anyway. It was an unfair contest, I mean just look at the bodies. Yep, ricpic, surprise is legal in its many forms, even the not thought of, by me at least. But DB nails with 'shoot an unarmed man' take, that was exactly the scene. It was foreordained as they say.
No teeth or dark mouth guard? I am sure the post-fight interview would reveal much.
Both guys not only volunteered to climb into the octagon, they were paid to do so. They signed waiver after waiver, including the ones that hold harmless everyone involved in the show should death result. I am not saying they knew all the risks, as nobody expects a flying whatever that move is called, but they will expect it from now on.
I am reminded of the old football comedy routine where the guy kept talking about "dain bramage" - based on the number of times one takes blows to the head in that "sport" that has to be a factor.

I'm not questioning the "legitimacy". I just don't laud losers.

Ughs all around.

Little kids are being trained in MMA including the "ground and pound" so there could be some "dain bramage" before they even make it to high school.
