Threat of tariffs on Mexico lifted

[twitter trump] It's very good worthwhile reading, by the way, the whole thing is interesting.

Previously.

Twitter comments are worthless. Twitter invites every crackpot on earth to toss in their poisoned 2¢.

Elsewhere people have more sensible reactions. Here are a few:

The Lopez-Obrador government was desperate to reach an agreement as companies had already begun rapid supply chain preparation to avoid the scheduled tariffs. The scale of international investment into Mexico with the sole purpose of access to U.S. Market is incredible. Massive international investments would be impacted. A tenuous Mexican economy would have been crushed.

Mexico moved 6,000 national guards to their southern border and they beagan arresting immigration activists but even that was not enough to satisfy President Trump.

To find a solution Mexican officials began freezing the assets of immigration groups working to undermine immigration law.

Trump really wanted to impose the tariffs (so he could claim Mexico is paying for building the wall) so it is most likely that Mexico acquiesced to Trump's terms. Trump would not agree to suspend the tariff schedule unless he was presented with a solid measurable plan.

* From charming the queen to winning a Mexican standoff against ... Mexicans.

* Wow. VSGPDT just made all those howling banshee pundits look like morons. Again and again and again!

* What a boss.

* May our esteemed VSGPOTUS make Mexico great again.

* Shucks, I wanted tariffs so we could say Mexico is paying for the wall.

* Wow. Trump got it done before Congress could even organize a vote to try to stop the Mexico tariffs. Just wow.

* Under budget and ahead of schedule.

* Shock and awe of a different form.

* Cue Ted Cruz coming out with a statement that he was with the President the whole way.

* Oh man. VVVVSGPDJT strikes again and my goodness, this one is epic. What's that I hear here in SoCal behind the Orange Curtain? Splodey Heads. YESSSSSSS! Best. President. Evah!

Other commenters are more cautious. More wary. Some say, "well see."

Trump has learned the job and has learned he has nothing to gain trying to be nice to the Demos.

That Democrats are incapable of doing a good and solid Immigration Bill! was a nifty little harpoon through the midsection.

Teddy Kennedy must be spinning.

The RINO chorus line of negativity is no help either.

The Mexicans always talk cooperation but never, so far, have followed through. Maybe this will be a first. Maybe.
