This week
Wow. The kids are getting really good at this. I love it when it's obvious the young person practiced so much that there's no longer any thinking left to do except to keep on track. Their body internalized the signs. They taught their bodies how to express so the signs come automatically as hand configurations for piano chords do or guitar chords form and place themselves automatically, the hand turns into the right shape claw and goes to the frets without thinking, "here's whre I put my fingers just so"
"Tiger" is clawed hands raking stripes across the cheeks.
"Roar" is the same double hand configurations extending forward from the mouth.
So "tiger" and "roar" look very similar.
"I got up" is shown the two legged fingers standing up on the floor of the opposite hand. Similar to "dancing" people tend to show this at an angle so it appears people stand up on a slope or stand sideways on a wall.
And that's just lazy.
It's a good week for new songs.
Billy Eilish is big this week.
Five people chose to interpret "Bad Guy" by Eilish. They have a lot of fun with this song. It's a very bad song.
Here are the lyrics.
Here are the lyrics.
And that gives us a good chance to compare.
This guy has a tight handwriting and fine expressive manner. He skips a lot of phrases while adding his own full body expression and pantomime. For example he does not show "walking on tippy toes" or "bruises on both my knees." He just skips those lines.
"Knows" at the cheek and not at the head. He's that tight.
Great signs. Unhelpful strobe lighting. Not synched in places.
"Criminal" is not a universal sign. Dictionaries are not helpful, they spell both criminal and crime. The word "steal" is the closest I can think of so I'd personify that. This is a fun interpretation.
This girl's "criminal" is behind bars. Her "tippy toes" looks very much like "people."
"Cynical" is substituted with "doubt" crooked "V" fingers at the eyes.
"Bruises on both my knees for you" Ha ha ha. Stop it, you're killing me.
"Knees" is shown as if the person is laying down. Rather than an index finger crossing the knees of the opposite two-finger person standing which is a lot more clear.
What are we missing?
"Tough" is making a mean face and putting up your dukes.
"Rough" is two clawed hands fake-raking each other like two sandpaper blocks.
"Enough" is a cup formed with one hand and filled to the top with the flattened other hand.
"Seduce" is an upright index finer (victim) being swept back and forth with the other hand then pulled in with both hands.
"Pity" is the sensitive middle finger extended forward from an open hand and touching the pitiful thing.

Fascinating how some kids have adult faces. What is she, ten years old? Yet her face has an adult quality. I was analyzing it and I think it's something about her eyes.
