Ex-New York Times editor Jill Abramson criticizes paper for 'unmistakably anti-Trump bia.

Jill Abramson is the only female executive editor the NYT ever had from 2011-2014. She's written a book soon to be released, Merchants of Truth: The business of News and the Fight for Facts, in which she complains about the unabashed liberal bent taken on by her successor, Dean Baquet.
Though Baquet said publicly he didn’t want the Times to be the opposition party, his news pages were unmistakably anti-Trump. Some headlines contained raw opinion, as did some of the stories that were labeled as news analysis.
She writes that part of the problem is within the generational split at the The Times with younger writers accepting a more opinionated form of journalism. The youngsters believe that urgent times call for urgent measures, the perceived dangers of Trump presidency obviated old standards.

Digital subscriptions increased significantly when Trump was elected and now that specific demand is driving their coverage. For NYT, there is a financial reward for running lots of Trump stories, mostly negative, that drive big traffic numbers despite cancellations after the election. Actually, the subscription orders grew to a level that no one anticipated.

So. Their liberal audience wants nonsense on Trump so NYT delivers it. And for now they are riding high, soaking in the thing they want for themselves. The thing is, Trump is temporary and distrust is permanent.

The best part is at the beginning: The NYT's "unmistakably anti-Trump” agenda risks damaging its credibility.

Risks? Welcome to the future. The only thing NYT can be relied on is for accepting DOJ leaks.

More of this at Washington Times.
