First, turn off the annoying music on the video.

Second, I would use fewer spices. Nothing wrong with any of them, but I think I'd like to focus on fewer.

Third, I think I agree with Alton Brown, who says coat chicken in spices first, then in flour. You don't waste so much of the spice.

Finally, I would use lard.

That was a little bit silly wasn't it. They just emptied the spice rack.

I think they're trying to recreate the 11 herbs and spices from KFC. Many of the copycat recipes use combinations of those spices. A lot of them use white pepper and none use brown sugar.
