Today's pictures

Many subjects, many pictures. I will try to limit how many I post.

First up, sunrise - looks ominous:

My leopard lilies (Lilium pardalinum) are starting to bloom. My attempts to propagate them over the winter failed. I have the same number of plants I had last year, so maybe this year I will do some research on how best to produce more of them.

And while walking one of my dogs this afternoon and saw a turkey tail fungus:

A storm moved through this evening, I looked out the window and saw a rainbow. It is a double rainbow but the outer one is very faint.

Then we had a groovy sunset.

That's is all.

Elton John grew a beard and got contacts? But seriously, Levon, Clarence Clemmons, and Joe Walsh? And was that Billy Preston on organ? Powerhouse lineup.

All of my leopard lilies were eaten. Rabbits.

They also ate the flowers off of some other full grown lilies I brought home and planted.

They leave my roses alone though.

That was Billy Preston, and the less I say about him the better.

Dr. John is a nut, as you can see by his getup, playing and on-stage antics.

Sorry to hear that, CL, I have rabbits here, I can see them gamboling in my yard, then a new clutch of hawks gets fed and I no longer see rabbits. But even when they are here they don't eat my lilies.

And that reminds me - I have not heard a single barred owl this year - normally I hear a half a dozen of them in the woods across the street. Hmm...

Thanks Chip, I respect your opinion on such things.

The mention of Levon reminds me of something - perhaps I will write a review of a new version of Stephen Hunter's "Shooter". Or maybe I won't, it will mainly be negative. Aw, okay, I'll write it...

Louisiana produced some one of a kind piano players going all the way back to Jelly Roll Morton or maybe before him for all I know.

I saw Dr. John at some high school in Arlington, VA back when, he was weird. That sunset pic looks 3 dimensional, nice shots all though.
