Privacy updates

Did a federal law change or something?

Everyone and his brother are emailing me telling me their privacy policy changed. And their policies are too long to bother reading. Too many to list. Places I don't even care about. Some I haven't even heard about. A few places I avoid, like Slate. At first I thought it was spam, but there's a sudden concern for changing privacy policies on a national level.

Is this happening to you?

"If it seems like every tech company—Instagram, Venmo, Apple, and Twitter, to name a few—has been sending you emails about updated terms of service, you’re not imagining it. Hundreds of companies are scrambling to update their data privacy policies ahead of a new European Union law that takes effect on Friday."

I got a stealth notice on my blog El Pollo Real telling me that Europeans were concerned about cookies.
