I hurried to mow my lawn this afternoon in advance of the forecast thunderstorm and when I came inside and dialed up Lem's I saw several posts and comments about how marvelous bluegrass music is. That painting is by the great Tom Benton of Missourah. I read somewhere that he would first sculpt clay figurines which he would then use as the models for his paintings. Don't know whether I believe that, seems awfully labor intensive but who knows? It does account for how rounded he makes that flat surface appear.
