New planets discovered including one that could have water

Fifteen new planets were discovered by Japanese researchers digging into data from the Kepler space telescope and ground-based counterparts orbiting red dwarf stars, including three planets slightly larger than Earth and one of them within the inhabitable zone.

“In our simulations, the atmosphere and the composition of the planet were assumed to be Earth-like, and there’s no guarantee that this is the case,” Hirano says.
