Stormy Daniels is about the resistance

William Jacobson say it a bit differently, The Stormy Daniels story is not about Stormy Daniels, it's about #TheResistance.

*sticks fingers in ears* Lalalalalalalalalala I don't care lalalalalalalalalalal I don't care lalalalalalalalala I don't care lalalalalalalalalalala ...

Is it over yet?

Jacobson says he didn't plan to watch it either, and so he didn't watch when it first aired. Then for some strange reason he read the transcript -- what's wrong with that guy? -- and a few things popped out at him.

So he went to the 60 Minutes site and watched. No link for you!

He says if you care to lose 26 minutes, then do, go watch it.

His observations:

1) Anderson Cooper's a pro.

2) It's all vanilla Trump f'd a whore. Nothing like Bill Clinton, No sexual harassment or assault or abuse of power. Not even any non-consensual sexual touching. Just a single encounter in 2006.

3) No minds were changed about Trump as a result of the interview.

4) It's not about Stormy Daniels, It's about removing Trump from office in one of two ways.

a) Getting Trump under oath and hoping he will lie, like Clinton did, proving grounds for impeachment.

b) Giving material for Robert Mueller to use to pressure Trump's attorney Michael Cohen into turning on Trump.

Jacobson concludes that it's not about clearing Stormy Daniels name as she claimed, nor about righteousness, as Avenatti claimed. It's about the resistance.

He says all this a lot better than I do. You should go over there and check it out.

He's getting a lot of reaction. When I first saw the post it had no comments, hours later it has 66.

I can't resist pretending I'm Marilyn Monroe singing low and breathily, "Happy Birthday, Mister President ..." That doesn't even get a laugh anymore when I sing it at an actual birthday. Still, it cannot be resisted. Everybody has their own rendition. Everybody joins in to pretend they're Marilyn Monroe and their rendition is better than mine.

I read the Jacobsen piece. The comments remind me of the Althouse comments with the rospierre commenter playing the role of Chuck at Althouse. It’s amazing how individuals can be archetypes or characters. K

He's a total Erma La Douche, a Tess Doucherville, un sac de toilette.

I skip all of his remarks. They contribute nothing.

It's good to remember she said nothing happened - many times.

As late as the end of January.

So she's either lying now or she's been lying all along.

ragspierre. He's been around for quite a while and IIRC he was a fixture at TOS long ago.

Another Lefty sophist and Don Rickles wannabe who thinks he's a wit.

A legend in his own mind.

I didn't watch and only read enough of the Yahoo news recap to see if she did confirm actual sex this time, rather than the coy BS she's been selling to date. Still, other than marital infidelity, from a man on his third wife; I'm not seeing any story here.

ARM claims the story is a threat to her family, and that's probably enough of a story for people who think sex from 12 years ago is a story. But I find it boring stuff. Really is a waste of time. Amazing how much we now know about a sexual encounter from 12 years ago than say the events leading up the Las Vegas mass shooting or this past week's attack at Travis AFB.

What I have learnt from the Stormy Daniels story:
Tiny head hovering over gigantic booooooobs.
Comically unattractive. Seems to believe she's some sort of super smart ho.
Trump's taste in floozies is questionable.

I think it's about getting women voters to turn against Trump. Is Stormy Daniels a lowlife? Yes. But the sleaze factor is a big turn off for many women and IMO for them the sleaze will stick to Trump.

I did not watch it.

Stormy who? I don't watch much news.

Smart move. Also, this isn't news.

I know the name has been in the news for quite a while, but I didn't realize till a few days ago it was a sex related case against Trump. I really don't follow news these days, and I used to be such a new junkie. It's not unusual for someone to say, 'did you hear about the bridge falling in Florida?' And I will say, no, what happened?

You know who's totally opposed to abortion? Pornstars who are carrying the child of a billionaire. I have some doubts about his not using a condom or, anyway, his finishing up in the Fertile Crescent. Her testimony seemed coached to inflict the most damage. The subtle allusion was to Harvey Weinstein. The offer of a role on Celebrity Apprentice. The invite to his hotel room. That's Harvey's m.o., and we all know what a sleaze Harvey is. Apparently Trump didn't grab her by the pussy. That's supposed to be his m.o., but maybe the Harvey allusion will be more damaging....He told Stormy that she reminded him of his daughter. I don't get much of an Ivanka vibe from Stormy, and I doubt Trump did either, but we have Stormy's word that it happened......None of this makes Trump look good, but the media's unblinking acceptance of Stormy's testimony make them look worse.

I agree with ricpic. Also, it's to embarrass/shame men into giving up support for Trump because he upsets their wives. Also, it was intended to hurt Trump's immediate family, and not necessarily just Melania. The dirty pool has a distinct Clintonian whiff.
