Welcome To The Neighborwood, pop-up book by Shawn Sheehy

The book shows seven vignettes of animal homes in the woods then an eighth of them all together. It's cute. Thirty-six buyers rate the book highly on Amazon. Shawn replies to the first, one that lauds the book at length, to thank them and to say that he is male.

The simple style is attractive. The mechanisms are not overloaded as we've come to expect with Robert Sabuda and especially with Saubda's genius apprentice Matthew Reinhart. Its simplicity makes it eminently copyable. And neither are the pages overloaded with additional pop-ups tucked into the negative spaces to maximize area. A nice book for ideas. It shows what is possible with minimalist design. Reviewers also like the text.

People read the words in pop-up books?

Available at Amazon for 20% discount. SMRP is $30.00, sold for $24.00, turns out to be $3.00 per page. Think of each double page as a large card, that is a very good price. Because I'd charge $100.00 per page to bother. These things don't grow on trees, you know. Wait. You can't make a silk purse out of ... forget it. You get what you pay for. It's a nice book that avoids unnecessary complication.

Wow, that is extra nice. I like the subtle colors. Love the spider at the end.
