"The president's daughter is raking in acclaim from Republican lawmakers who say her lobbying was critical to the approval of the GOP's tax cut package"

"She said people want a simplified tax code, lower corporate taxes, increased per-child tax credits for families and more favorable rates for the middle class and small businesses.
"Since day one, the president said he wanted to deliver middle income tax relief - targeted middle income tax relief - and he also wanted to cut corporate rates to enable our businesses to be competitive and to thrive in a global economy," Trump said. "And this bill does exactly those things."
The president's oldest daughter, who now serves as a special adviser, said small businesses will see taxes go down to their lowest point since 1931.
She said she's hopeful that this "enormous and historic win for the American people" will help create cohesion within the Republican Party and with Democrats in Congress, so that the administration can enter 2018 with tremendous momentum."

She makes an easy sell in many ways. It is sad the notion of allowing people to keep more of their money is some how disastrous to the left. Even more sad that they consider such to be akin to what Hitler would do. They just don't get that Hitler was a socialist, and Trump is not.

She wants cohesion with the Dems? Over what, Amnesty? This gal is dangerous.

I don't follow this stuff too closely, but I voted for Trump, not his spawn.

I know, Sixty, but that seems to be the way it works these days. Use all assets to achieve the goal. I don't know if this will further mess over the middle class in the details, but it was absolutely necessary for any chance of national revival going forward.

Like her father, she understands busyness and money.

Very bright.

And I think, as she grows older, she'll lose a lot of the Leftism.

This is the sort of story that is (1) unproveable, and (2) designed to be seen from many angles. Clickbait. Righties can criticize Ivanka for being a creature of the left with an unearned seat at the power table. Lefties can whine that she doesn't do enough and is "complicit" in Dad's evil admin and get their inner and unrepressed sexist pig on by critiquing her looks. You can wonder if she's the willing or unwilling facade of bipartisanship in the Trump Admin. Has any policy that she's pushed ever actually been realized? Also, maybe it's just Republican lawmakers sucking up to the Prez. Oh well, no way to tell!

Thank God that Chelsea doesn't have a fraction of Ivanka's good looks and poise. If Chelsea looked like Ivanka, she would be on the cover of every magazine in America and we would have to hang on her every word. It would be JFK Jr and Princess Di combined and squared. We can all be thankful that Chelsea got the looks and charms she deserves. The media refrain from making invidious comparisons between Chelsea and Ivanka for obvious reasons.

If you can get more with a pretty face and good logic than you van with good logic, why not use the pretty face?

While I don't like the whiff of nepotism in the air, I understand why Trump might consider sending in a family member to try to persuade and get people on board with his agenda.

There doesn't seem to be very many people ensconced in the government that he can actually trust and many who are covertly acting as saboteurs. One would assume/hope that he can trust his family members. As long as Ivanka is competent and ONLY advancing Trump's agenda, and not her own, I don't see too much problem with it.

However.......Trump is President and his/OUR agenda should trump (no pun intended) any personal desires on the part of Ivanka or others. I doubt that Trump could be so wishey washy that he can be bent to the will of his lefty family members. We would hope.

I'm, personally, on board with using any tools at my disposal to get the job that I want done... done. I think Trump is that way as well.

Whether true or not, Trump's two best assets so far are Melania and Ivanka.

There has been an vigorous and often dishonest effort by some segments of the right to demonize Ivanka. While I understand that she is soft on some issues, DACA in particular, I haven't seen her working against the expressed will of the President and the voters and the attempts to portray her as doing such are counterproductive and hard to understand.

It could be a leftover personal animus coming from Breitbart and others, or it could be just a need to create a Devil to hate on for clicks and pageviews, or it could be a surreptitious effort by the Never-Trumpers and the Democrats to use her to undermine the President.

But its been going on at least since the election and I can't see how it works to advance the Trump movement.

Bannon is an all-or-nothing, my way or the highway kind of guy (spend a little time at Breitbart). As you say, she has her opinion, but she never undercuts her father, so I agree with you, but the purists (and they can be almost as bad on our side) tolerate no deviation.

PS Meth, I think you nailed it.

Never lose sight of the fact that Trump isn't your regular politician. He is a wheeler dealer, businessman, nobodies chump, using whatever assets that he can gather to get things done, and good on him and his family for advancing this winning strategy.

You heard it here, first! Whatever comes out of the administration's mouth(s), it will be most uncritically repeated here. Belief is what matters!

@TTR: Here's a proposition: I agree to post here for a week taking on a Democrat, leftwing (Obama liberal even) frame of mind, while you agree to post from a Republican rightwing (or even pro-Trump) frame of mind. Just to see what happens.
