Christmas Eve Sunrise

Sunrise this morning:

A friend posted this then asked us to guess which character she identified with:

I knew right off the bat which one she was, then she wanted to know which one represented me. Why, Schroeder, of course - in fact I once played "Linus and Lucy" as the recessional at a friend's wedding. Totally Schroeder.

Belly up to the bar and tell us which character best represents you, if only for this morning.

I'm Charlie Brown. Gullible and cynical.

White Christmas in Chicago. Snow on the ground and flurries.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Merry Christmas to you, ampersand.

No sun so far today. Tonight -5º. Tomorrow high temp -2º. Nighttime temp -15º. Tis winter!

Merry Christmas to all of you, and have a Happy New Year!

Everybody wants to be Schroeder. I once did a post on the song, in the context of counter rhythm. link. Could have been before your time. I'm impressed that you can play it.

I identify with a character not shown -- Snoopy's nemisis -- The Red Baron.

I used to be able to play it - due to pinched nerves I lost sensation in my hands, and the piano playing days came to an end.

But if you look at the link you provided you will see that that tune is primarily played on the black notes. Black notes matter, plus that makes it simple to play.

Your link also reminds me, especially this time of year, how much I miss Tim Burnett's contributions to this site. He is truly a learned man.

I've never seen this show, so I have no idea who I feel simpatico with. I have read the comics though. This morning ....probably Pig Pen, since I am still in my pjs and sweatshirt and roasting stinky garlic for the Prime Rib tonight.

It dawns on me that there are many iconic movies and shows that I had never seen for whatever reasons. I need to catch up.

Merry Christmas to all.

I'm trying to learn this now! It's hard. For me.

My piano teacher, when I had one, said if I wanted to learn a new piece by Christmas, we needed to get started in July.

Merry Christmas, everyone. Stay warm.

I'd like to be snoopy, he's the cool one, snoozing on the ridge of his doggie house. but I'm probably more like Linus with a drop of Lucy, and a pinch of the purple dress scraggly haired twins.

The twins are awesome - that's who my friend identified with - dancing with wild abandon. Yep, that's her.

Merry Christmas All.

And especially Merry Christmas, Troop. Haven't seen a post or comment by you in about five days, which probably only means that you're super busy with family and the store. Or maybe you're away on vacance. Anyway, just chime in with "Of course I'm okay you fanook." Something endearing like that.

I identify with Charlie Brown but to my surprise I don't see him among the other dancers.

OK Sixty, you got in ahead of me or I am late to the table as it is no longer morning. I was editing this comment as you posted about the twins:

Who represents me in today in this video? Or in every day life? Two different experiences, as this is the day I've come to enjoy even more than Christmas morning or my own birthday.

Today, I'm happily dancing around, sort of on my own and sort of with others, doing what needs to be done along with what I enjoy doing, with and apart from those who enter into my zone as they stack wood, cook, and use my tape and scissors.

In the video, there's a pair of identical girls in purple dresses I identify with, who are moving to the music with their heads going in opposite directions sort of like happy pendulums, and that's how I feel, moving through time, glad to have arrived at this day and this new but familiar party one more time.

Beautiful sunrise too, appreciating the combination of deep blue clouds in front of those reflecting the light.

Chickelit: While I appreciated Schroeder's focus, intensity and creative flow, I've no desire to be him, as he can be as crabby as Lucy!

I would have guessed Schroeder, but myself, either Linus or Pigpen.

I have been super busy ric. Caring for Lisa's Dad who is quite ill.

Also I broke my Ipad and haven't had a chance to fix it. I would throw up quick posts on the Ipad but I can not until it gets fixed.

I am bringing it to this new chain store "Ubreak I Fix."

They have repaired a couple of my electronics and did a pretty good job.

Merry Christmas to one and all.

Good Post, Sixty G. I enjoyed Schroeder's gift today.

The BiG A delivered a box of Bustelo Cuban instant decaf coffee sticks today (recommended by a commenter elsewhere) and we were able to also enjoy a Cuban coffee this afternoon while listening to the music and deciding who in the vid we were feeling most like. MrM picked out the guy in the orange shirt. Why? Because, he says, he keeps doing the same thing over and over! Which made us both laugh. All that was before the Christmas train rounded the bend and picked up speed on the final approach to the station. Didn't see until later that DBQ also mentioned the twins.

Christmas Blessings to All. May moments of goodness in levity and gravity be yours whether you fall on your knees or not!

Good one, MamaM - my friend's second choice was the zombie guy in back holding his arms out in front of him, that character too does the same thing over and over. Upon repeated viewings I am starting to figure out just how low the animation budget was for that movie.

Pig Pen and my brother could be twins, but what's the fun of picking on one's younger sibling when he isn't here to catch it?

One of the beautiful nuances of the Charlie Brown special occurs when Linus tells the true meaning of Christmas and recites the passage from Luke 2, setting aside his security blanket as he spoke. Charles Schulz was a genius.
