WSJ: Mueller has impaneled a grand jury

Via Drudge:  Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s has impaneled a grand jury in Washington, The Wall Street Journal reports, in the latest sign his investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election is moving quickly.

A spokesman for Mueller declined to comment to the newspaper, and President Trump’s attorney, Ty Cobb, said he was unaware of a grand jury but welcomed any steps that brought the investigation closer to its conclusion. That’s somewhat different from Trump, who has called the investigation “the single greatest WITCH HUNT in American political history.”

Separately, CNN reported that Mueller’s probe has now expanded well past the 2016 election. “Sources described an investigation that has widened to focus on possible financial crimes, some unconnected to the 2016 elections, alongside the ongoing scrutiny of possible illegal coordination with Russian spy agencies and alleged attempts by President Donald Trump and others to obstruct the FBI investigation,” the report said, adding that investigators were combing through Trump’s business empire.

Good thing the corrupt democrat party isn't being "looked into".

Hey ND - Nice to see you around.

Do you remember me mentioning a 20 year old local friend who went missing?
His remains were found on Sunday. Not far from where he went missing. What is astonishing is that the area was combed by investigators and hundreds of volunteers on multiple occasions after he disappeared.
Goodbye- dear sweet Ryder.

I just said a prayer, Dickin'. Searches are only as good as the weakest link. Often times they are comprised of many volunteers w/ good intentions but poor observational skills. Even cops can be a weak link.

ND - there were professional search teams that went out first, right after he went missing. In the weeks that followed, the family organized volunteer searches. I was invited to join the first official volunteer search. The volunteer searches were actually conducted with professionals who knew how to do it. We stood in a line about 20' apart and walked together in a long line, always keeping site of each other as we hiked the lifting and sinking hilly topography. On the day I accompanied one of the searches, there were hundreds of us. We were all corralled into smaller sub-groups and led by one of two leaders in charge of each group. I'm guessing there were 10-15/sub-group. All sorts of maps were used to show what areas were searched. It really is an imperfect way to look for a needle in a haystack, but it was about as good as it could be done when you are looking in a foothill area in the snow, with volunteers. We were given a fast education on how to do it. The Johnsons went to a lot of effort because they knew so many were desperate to help and they didn't want to lose anyone during the search. I was impressed with the level of professionalism with the volunteer group leaders.

I was on a northern route that day, looking down towards the valley where he went missing. It's funny I remember sort of feeling like we were in the wrong place. His bones were found down by the river that flows from the dam. Was he down there or was he dragged down there later by wild animals? The investigation as to what actually happened to him continues. I hope they can piece it together.
thanks for the prayers. I feel so sad- it's as if he died today even tough he probably died shortly after he went missing.

Dickin', I can't say I know exactly how you, family and friends feel. But, having worked cases like this I have seen the pain on faces. I hope forensics and investigation produce some answers.

Thanks, ND. Ryder's mom looked at me a few weeks/months after he went missing and said she knew in her heart he was dead. Yes- she said "dead". A mother knows and she knew. She gained peace long before anyone else.

Sorry for thread hi-jack.

Regarding the witch hunt - the level of lies and deception within our government is biblical. Heckova job, Barry.

Miss Universe is to blame. That and please ignore the money that flowed to the Clinton Foundation from Russian Uranium deals, while the she-liar was head of the State Dept.

Yeah, like MS-13 and border security. Libertarians can't live without their buzz.

ND - I'm no pot smoker, but the GOP will commit suicide if it thinks that going after marijuana and a useless failed drug war is a good idea.

Pot is a bad idea, pushed by the Left.

Like a lot of things, such as LGBTQWERYUIOPASDFHJKZXCVNMs in the military, it's not as popular as some think.

I actually read that as Mueller 'Impales' grand jury. I lol'ed, then i didn't. Why Trump and AG sessions is letting this ridiculous witch hunt continue is baffling.

FWIW I think he's setting this up so Mueller ends up looking like the Lurch of lawyers. Let them make all the noise they want, and, when it ends, not with a bang, but with a whimper, Trump gets the last laugh.

PS FWIW I think if we wait to New Year's, McMaster, regardless of what he is, will probably be gone. According to Breitbart (granted, Bannon partisans) he's wearing out his welcome It wouldn't be cool to dump him right now, but, in 4 or 5 months...

Good Evi piece on McMaster, stressing how much about him is anonymous sources (including the Susan Rice biz).

If you're trying to keep an open mind, it's worth a look.
