"Why Democrats can't quit Nancy Pelosi"

Via Instapundit: Democrats would have massive gaps to fill if they were to oust Pelosi.

Chief among those is fundraising. Since 2002, Pelosi has hauled in $568 million for House Democratic campaigns — including $141 million during the 2016 campaign cycle.

Pelosi also has a long history of holding her party together through difficult votes — enabling former President Barack Obama to shepherd into law a series of Democratic-backed measures in 2009 and 2010 and later forcing Republicans to grapple with the politically damaging divisions within their own ranks.

No other Democrat possesses the stature to match those accomplishments.

That reality was the subtext for Pelosi’s taunting remarks Thursday in which she cast her Democratic critics as hungry for attention rather than serious about ousting her.

“When it comes to personal ambition and having fun on TV, have your fun,” Pelosi said. “I love the arena. I thrive on competition.”

Of the political impact of the Republican attacks: “I think I’m worth the trouble,” she said.

Personally I'd like to see her and Ryan tied in the same sack and dumped in the Potomac, but she raises lots of democrat money and completely wastes it, just like Hillary. Leave her in place, she's becoming a babbling pile of demented goo, the Norma Desmond of American politics.

Some of that is absolute nonsense. Keep in mind the source is Commie Nuze Net.

You can bet that's going to hit some rough waters.

Which of those votes was that hard? Stimulus is always popular with Demos and everybody wanted a piece of IdiotCare.

As for "Republicans to grappl[ing] with the politically damaging divisions within their own ranks", Boehner and McConnell (say whatever else you will) had little trouble making sure no R votes were cast on those wonderful policy measures.

No other Democrat possesses the stature to match those accomplishments.

Riiiiight. And every election cycle, "We have to pass it to see what's in it", is played for the benefit of the body politic.

You can always find a way to put a positive spin on anything, but outside of finding a clean, articulate guy who can pass as Black to run for President, her entire tenure has been a disaster for Democrats. They lost an unprecedented number of positions around the nation, lost the working class, and even the things they accomplished have come to be disasters in the end.

By any real measure, she is the worst ever, except in the interests of Republicans

Keep her forever, I say.

Pelosi is just one of many serious blemishes that Democrats can't see in the mirror.

She has that frozen rictus of a smile that reminds you of the skull beneath the face. She doesn't look youthful, but rather the mortality sparkles like frost on her frozen features.... She and Maxine Waters are very fortunate, and their husbands are even more blessed.. If the media investigated the banker husbands of these two esteemed public figures with anywhere near the ferocity or thoroughness that they devote to Ivanka and her clothing line, both men would be playing gin with Madoff in the prison yard.

God bless her. I hope she remains in her position for many years to come.
