There are some people who everyone dislikes. Sounds impossible, but I know a person who is disliked by everyone, even his wife, whom he adores.

At Little Big Horn, Custer did everything right.

I think Custer was a little lax in the sending scouts ahead department.

Wrong. He had his scouts out. One of the problems was the valley was a very big place and it took 3 hours for said scouts to find the village.

That's the point. You can do everything right and still get your head handed to you.

So I've got a 9% chance of eternal life. That's comforting.

Here's my addition to "What true fact sounds fake":

So much of what of you guys keep trying to sell even though what you're selling are things that you, yourselves, have never done and, yet, refuse to notice--much less acknowledge--that I and my husband, in fact, actually have done.

Oh. Yes. We. Have.

And: Oh. Yes. You. Are. The. Poseurs.

Lazy people mostly interested in not ever, actually, ever being held to account, in terms of any thing, much less every thing.

SO true, you asshole. Do you never listen to your own words, dripping out of your own mouth, more like diarrhea than anything else?

I'm 56. My husband is 52. Our son is 16.

We have been no burden, at all, on the system. We have done it on our own WHILE, AND [not or] paying into the system, full stop, in terms of subsidizing others, including dishonest folks, for at least a couple of decades--and without question

...since, for sure, our kid was 1.

There are a number of reasons, looking back at it, why, way back in February 1992, my husband and I instantly got connected to each other, in just a split-second, at the bar in which we met.

Anyhoo.

We're celebrating today, despite all of the sad things that are going on and the serious pain that the most beloved family member is undergoing and will be facing over the next four months.

Because we got told, today, that if we continue on the trajectory--to which we have been committed not just since that time, but even before it and certainly afterward--we've been disciplined about, it's possible that we, when older, will continue to be able to be independent and self-sustaining for a long-enough time. And even without the assumption of Social Security payments (neither I nor my husband have ever assumed them, ever, BTW, especially given how entitled upstream folks are and have been, for decades). So long as as we're willing to live as modestly as necessary, and Lord knows that we are both willing and able based on history, it looks as if we're on the right track for, together, achieving a goal we both share: to carry our own weight unto death and to be able to say, at the end of our lives, that there's never been any lie about what our intentions and values were, not to mention how hard we worked, together.
