"Manchester attack: Police 'not sharing information with US''

Via Reddit:  UK officials were outraged when photos appearing to show debris from the attack appeared in the New York Times.

It came after the name of bomber Salman Abedi was leaked to US media just hours after the attack, which left 22 dead.

Theresa May said she would tell Donald Trump at a Nato meeting that shared intelligence "must remain secure".

The Queen is at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital visiting some of the injured as well as members of the emergency services.

The Deep State is leaking to damage Donald Trump. As a consequence it is damaging the United States, it's allies and the war on terror.

President Trump needs to fire the entire intelligence apparatus. Fire every administrator. Every boss. Every analyst. Every paper pusher. Put field agents in charge. The working stiffs who do the work.

For example. Find the best street agent in the FBI with the mosts busts. The rule breaker. Make him head of the FBI.

That is the only way to drain the swamp.

If he doesn't they will destroy him in one way or another. With leaks and lies like they did with Nixon. Or with a bullet like they did with Kennedy.

Time for Sessions to get to work prosecuting leakers. Obama did it. You can also bet Obama did so to make room for him to embed those that would leak for him.

Sessions is going to be fairly weak-spined, I suspect, since he's already recused himself, thus damaging his ability to project power. You see, senators make horrible adjudicators because they bring their senatorial piety to their work. Bad for prosecutorial power.

This is being spun as (1) Something that makes Trump look bad in front of our closest ally and (2) a simple difference between how the UK versus the US handles investigations. So they're trying to downplay the issue while simultaneously blaming Trump because Trump is to blame for everything.

Actually: (1) The leaks are the doing of the deep state/permanent government leakers who are so entwined with the press that they didn't think twice about international repercussions of leaking this information; (2) The US leakage criteria depends entirely on which politician is being investigated.

For most of the last century, British intel leaked worse than the Titanic. They owe us more than we owe them.

As for the leakers, do the words prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law ring any bells?

God, this Libertarian snow job is getting old.

Sessions recused himself only from the Russia/campaign thing because he was an official of Trump's campaign. Perfectly reasonable and probably sensible.

Exactly. To pass on the crime scene photos to the Times so quickly they had to be virtually sleeping together. The good thing is that this set of leaks, unlike so many others, doesn't seem to have been intended to do political damage to Trump. That will give some political cover to Trump to push for a more widespread leak investigation.

This assumes our revered and honorable Attorney General will get up off his increasingly worthless ass and do his job.

I am trying to figure out the damage supposedly done here. First, Amartel is right that some of the spin is that in the UK, the media doesn't release a perp's name if they are just a suspect, because it may ruin their life. I'm not sure how you ruin the life of someone who just self detonated their life with a bomb. Second, the leak is also portrayed as tipping off the bomber's acquaintances that the police are on to them. If the acquaintances have anything to be guilty of, they likely already knew the name of the bomber and are not surprised the police figured it out. That's why information is not as highly classified as the "means and methods". Any bad guy learning of their own plan from a leak isn't getting information they didn't already know. What they may not have known is how their plan was discovered. In this case, the bad guys know how their plan was discovered; they successfully carried it out.

This leak story is as dumb as "we don't know the motive of the Orlando night club shooter, despite the face that he called 911 and local news stations to tell them his motive."

Um, does the fact he's going after the gang bangers and the illegals mean anything?

Or are we just mouthing off because we can't live without something to bitch about?

You (in the plural sense) want to get mad about something, how about all the sitzpinklers with R after their names who pronounce Trump's budget - in which he intends to cut 3.6T from the Federal budget - DOA?

Rabel said...

Ed,

The actions against the illegals are coming primarily from John Kelly at DHS.

Gang Bangers? That's nice, but while he focuses on what should be routine law enforcement activity the administration is being attacked from within by malicious leakers.

The fact that someone transferred privileged crime scene photos to the Times despite the recent attention to administration leaks shows me that the leakers have no fear that their activities are being monitored, no fear that they might be exposed, and no fear of Jeff Sessions.

That is a problem and we have rely on Sessions to fix it. I'm not seeing any results.

Ooooooh May would tell Trump that intelligence must be kept secure, would she?

Well, FUCK HER and the horse that gave her its face. How arrogant! Just as we assume of British.

He KNOWS THAT, you dope. What a loser. Sad!

I'm off politics for the rest of the day. I've had my recommended monthly allowance of Democrats and other international liberal wankers.

Oh! Change of subject.

You'll find this disgusting for sure.

This morning I was reading a site called Diogenes's Middle Finger. It's in bookmarks. Then at last I wondered who Diogenes is so I looked. Turns out to be a kook who lived in a barrel and began cynicism. An oddball. Maximum. Ate breakfast in public, and other outrageous acts.

When interrogated on why he masturbated in public he answered, "if only hunger could be so easily relieved as rubbing one's belly."

!

And there he goes doing these private things in public again.

Sounds just like a crackpot I know. Underachieving philosopher type who refuses the values of his wealthy family until those moments he needs help with his barrel then, boom, straight to family where those discarded values sure do come in handy.

I think all of the details that were produced should have been in the public record anyway. There are too many secrets. Let us know which mosques this guy went to and who his friends are.

The relatives of the victims should be able to seek revenge. Trump talked about taking revenge against the families of the terrorists. He dropped it. I hope the Brits who still have a pair of balls don't.

Rabel said...

In particular, the picture of the detonator should not have been released. That's traceable and possibly actionable intelligence. The jihadi's had no way of knowing it survived the explosion intact until the Times and the leakers put it in the paper.

At the border, it's a matter of whose jurisdiction.

Hardly routine, but I'll quote from the first article I cited, " prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law".

Ya gotta catch 'em first. Now they're caught, this is when they get prosecuted.

No offense, dude, but aren't you the one who keeps saying we shouldn't send our guys over there?

And we all know most of them don't have last names like bin Laden or Zawahiri, so suing them won't get you much, if anything. So you're going to have to send the Rangers or some AC-130s after them.

Trooper York said...

Where do you get the idea that we should send our guys over there. I think the relatives of the Brits who were killed should go on a jihad of their own on the Muslims in their midst. The mosques that shelter them. The "teachers" that indoctrinate them. The family members who shelter them. It is up to the fathers and brothers of the people killed there to take revenge.

The infrastructure that let this happen exists in Britain. They have a list of "known Wolves" like the ones that committed these attacks. They need to get two behind the ear Philippine Style.

Like a staycrusade?

Trooper York said...

Exactly.

Did you know that concert goers reported a Muslim woman with a backpack acting strangely at the concert and were told to shut up and stop being racist?

I think it is over for the Brits.

IOW what they call over there rough justice.

It's the government's job to do that - remember they do not have freedom of religion the way we do (they treat Catholics worse than Moslems), so legally, it's doable.

You want vigilantism? OK, be ready for the civil war that follows.

Prioblem with that sort of thing is it tends to get out of hand.

IIRC that's the government's doing it. Duterte is behind that.

ed it is already a civil war but only one side is fighting.

The people of Europe are waking up. Don't they remember what happened the last time the government let the elites run roughshod over the common people?

The reaction is coming. Soon.

Ric is right. The only thing we are too old to fight this fight. It is up to the younger generation to step up. I am not sanguine that they have the wherewithal to do it.

What makes her think Trump leaked to the NYTs? More like those moles in the Trump Administration that leaked to the NYTs. Either that of the Brits did it just to blame Trump.

They are that twisted.
