I like the concept of living inside walls that are that powerful.
Not so thrilled with the mini-house.

As a longtime builder and life-long dweller in houses, I can see things I like about that concept. The design has a long way to go in order to become something with style, the actual construction seems sound, although I have my doubts about how high you can pile concrete before it slumps, but the biggest problem is that all of the plumbing, wiring and ducts are inside of the concrete walls. A leaky pipe would require a jackhammer as the first tool used to make a repair.

So, hire someone more familiar with architecture and CNC to do the design, increase the foot print to at least 1,000 square feet per occupant, include access points for all the HVAC and other systems and turn it loose.

The design options are limitless - I would like a Gaudi-esque shed in my back yard - I'll start digging the footer now.

24 hours seems like a long time for such a small house.

Could be a boon for the third world though...

Sixty, have you been to the Sagrada Família (I was there last year)? It is truly magnificent. Your shed will be awesome.

X - I have never been to Spain, but were I ever to be able to travel again Barcelona is where I would go. I recently watched a documentary about the ongoing construction there, the history, the losses during WWII, the almost total redesign by the folks now in charge, even with all of that, it is still an amazing place. Gaudi was a genius.

And yeah, extruded concrete would totally work on a design like that.

We only spent four days in Barcelona, but great vibrant city. Go if you can, well worth it. Yes, Gaudi was a genius.

Gaudi was a genius. I dream of standing before the Sagrada Cathedral to weep.
