"Johnny Depp spent $3 million blasting Hunter S. Thompson’s ashes out of a cannon, ex-managers claim in lawsuit"
The funeral forms part of a list of ostentatious spending included in a lawsuit by his ex-managers, who claim it all led him to the brink of financial ruin.
“All I'm doing is trying to make sure his last wish comes true,” Depp said at the time (2005), “I just want to send my pal out the way he wants to go out.”

Wally Cox and Marlon Brando were lifelong friends from childhood. When Cox died his widow asked Brando to spread his ashes where he used to hike. Instead Brando kept the ashes under his bed until he died. He purportedly spoke to the ashes often. Both their ashes were spread in Death Valley.
How weird.
Depp is a hipster. Even he doesn't know what he means.
Word to Hunter Thompson and the widow Cox: When you want something done right, do it yourself.
If you have a spare 3 million, I still don't want you to spend it in such an absurd manner.
Please - give it to a non-leftwing charity. or some kids.
This explains Tonto.
I just heard that a group of ravens is called and "Unkindness of ravens".
What Depp did as Tonto was an unkindness to a crow.
I would not commit a felony for a friend.
A good friend will die for you. A really good friend will kill for you. (Apologies to nick)
No, a good friend will help you move.
A really good friend will help you move the body.
windbag, Killing is not necessarily a felony. No apologies needed.
For my true friends, they are my family, there is nothing I wouldn't do for them. Want someone to disappear for hurting you? I've got some phone numbers that might help.
Here in the anonymity of the Internet, one can come forth and admit that they saw The Lone Ranger. That movie was staggeringly bad. Not bad in the usual ways, but bad in a whole new dimension of bad. After the Ottomans conquered Byzantium, they made St Sophia into a mosque. That's what they did to the original Lone Ranger. It wasn't the desecration. It was the self righteousness of the desecration that was so enfuriating,
Depp movies either hit it or are big swings and misses. I guess props for trying new things and committing to the project-even if its bad.
Nick, you are correct. As an added bonus, here in North Carolina "he needed killin'" is a valid defense.
