"What's something that's completely legal, but that pisses you off when you see someone doing it?"

Reddit top comments...

Cutting in line. Fuck those people.

Playing a video or song loudly on their phone or tablet in a confined public place, like the subway, doctor's waiting room, etc.

The people who reply to amazon questions with "i dont know, i bought it as a gift for someone else" and " i dont know, it hasnt arrived yet"

People that stop or hang out at choke points - ie doors, ends of escalators, etc

People who bring 30 items to the express line of 15 items or less.  They're usually the same people who pay in pennies and nickels too.

Clickbait articles, misleading thumbnails, fake news stories.

Driving less than the speed limit in the left lane.

Driving less than the speed limit in the passing lane is illegal, as is hanging out in the passing lane doing the speed limit. It enrages me.

Walking really slowly and two abreast, blocking the ability of anyone who walks at a normal pace to get around. Totally unaware that they are annoying everyone else by being road blocks.

That and people in the grocery store who just park their cart in the middle of the aisle and stare at the shelves....again so no one can get around them.

Pay attention to your surroundings people!!!!!

Most of those are meh - no biggie, I can work around it, and if people haul a cart load to the 15 items or less lane, well, bless their heart. That gives me time to be present, enjoy the ambiance, and otherwise take a break from my hectic life.

But what in the blanking blank causes people to enter a building, the fairgrounds, or some other venue, take two steps and stop. I will run into you. That is a given. Move it or lose it. Find some other place to lollygag - you are too stupid to live.

So there you have it, my philosophy - live and let live, unless there is a tide of humans who are going to mash me between you and their mad onrush - then you will get trampled.

Cheeseheads are notorious for being left lane cruisers. Truckers ride the asses of cars w/ Wisconsin plates more than any others for that reason. I HATE left lane cruisers. HATE them.

And, I see deborah is a higher order thinker on the left lane scofflaws as well.

I've been known to get in front of the real ardent left lane assholes and just slow down until they have to get over. I consider it a teachable moment.

Being an avid walker, I'm w/ DBQ on her peeve as well.

Although I adhere to the express checkout lane limits, I'm not Barney Fife on others. Unless you are way over, I don't give a shit.

Funny how some things bug us and other/others not so much.

Lollygag is a great word. And although it peeves me to be blocked by a lollygagger I'm also somewhat envious of the person relaxed enough to lollygag. Make up your mind, willya! That was for me, not the lollygagger.

I actually think this might be illegal. Cars with sub-woofers or whatever they are called - that emit that horrible piercing bass that cuts thru the whole body and interrupts the core of the being.

F those dudes/that sh*t.

Thing is - those too-loud rap crap car-bass abusers, are gonna suffer some mighty tinnitus later on. I promise.

Bull Durham.

Sometimes on a warm summer afternoon I might go motoring and when I listen to AM radio I might catch a Bull Durham game. That is my only interaction with pro sports, but I still have good memories of the days, before they went big time, when the Bulls were a Single A team. Those guys played for the love of the game and an ambition to make it to the show.

Good times, good times.

And right about now, after a day spent out in the shop in 30 degree weather, I could use a summer afternoon.

This:

"In the video he is choked and repeatedly called the n-word. His clothes are slashed and he is terrorized with a knife. His alleged captors repeatedly reference Donald Trump. Police are holding four people in connection with the attack."

It used to be a thing to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. The whole truth noting that people can lie through omission. But only in certain settings would such be lawful or unlawful.

ARRGH! Check out line horror stories. I worked nights and at the last break would rush out to Cub Foods to get a couple of items.
Usually at that time you'd get in and out no problem. But inevitably you'd get stuck behind the expired coupon arguer or the wrong price arguer and too often the woman, and it was always a woman, who had one item but when it came time to pay pulled out a checkbook to pay for it.They never had the check ready or writing the check while the cashier was scanning.

One time I was behind an old man who had 1 item, when it came time to pay,the old goat pulled out one of those cans with a coin slot at the top and proceeded to shake out the money. I wanted to beat him to death with a rolled up Weekly World News.

I am also upset that they are trying to take down that painting supporting Black Lives Matters that the Congressional Black Caucus said they would stomp anyone who tries to remove it.

We need to leave that up there so we can show everyone where they are coming from.

Let the sun shine in.

Sixry, KUDOS! As soon as I read ricpic's comment about "lollygagging" I thought of that scene. Great clutch hit, my friend.

Walking away from your parked car and honking the horn with your key fob to check if the car is locked. Lazy bitches cannot be bothered with the car's handle so they announce to the world LOUDLY another f'k'n inconsiderate dope just now parked their car and I'm all WTF?

ndspinelli said...

Chip, YES! And once in awhile you get the OCD asshole who has to check 5-6 times to make sure his 1983 Dodge Dart is locked.

ampersand, Righteous rant. Cub Food tried to make it in Madison about 20 years ago. The lasted about 10 years and went out of biz. But, moving to the Twin Cities they are big, as you know. I'm not a fan. I'll go there to buy canned goods. I like Fresh Thyme. I walked into a Fresh Thyme for the first time a month or so ago. I said to myself, this place looks just like Sprouts, a successful chain in Cali. I did some research and learned Fresh Thyme and Sprouts are owned by the same company. Great produce and good deli/meat/fish.

When Cub first moved to the Chicago area, they were so cheap that you would see Arab grocers in line with multiple carts loaded with stuff they intended to sell at their ghetto stores.
Eventually Cub put limits on the stuff they sold. Cubs closed all the local stores several years ago. And like you I only shopped can goods, plus soda and beer. Always keep an eye out for new Grocery stores opening, they usually underprice the competitors until labor costs catch up to them. The exception has been Roundys/Mariano's which was really expensive since day 1.

BTW This is exactly how I feel being stuck behind someone I can't get around.

In my small town people can still write checks in a supermarket with proper I.D. Some old people are great for slowly writing their checks and then carefully figuring out their new balance before tearing off the check and handing it to the cashier. Takes forever and used to get on my nerves but anymore I enjoy watching them live out their last days of going to the grocery store on their own.

Donny Genaro said...

Looks like AllenS and I were both thinking about check writers at the same time.

AllenS said...

You only need cash for going to the bar or the strip joint. Two places that probably won't accept a check unless they know you. No matter how fast you can write one. Yes, Bones, like yesterday when I went to the grocery store, and an elderly lady took forever to write the check, and then wanted to BS with Sandy the cashier. Luckily, my frozen stuff refroze when I got outside in the 0º weather.

The last thing that I build in my shop will be my wheelchair. It will have a top speed of about 45 mph. I'll be the old man yelling "get the fuck out of the way!"

Donny Genaro said...

That's funny, Allen, and if they let you into a nursing home with that hot rod chair you'll always be the first one to the dining room.

Joe Biden, America's Putin said...

What it is with check writers. ?!?!? Get a credit card!

LOL Allen...

Young people are going to turn over their lives to the govt. The govt. and young people hate cash. They NEVER have any in their pockets and go to ATM's for just the amount they need. I always have at least $200 cash in my pocket and am probably in the upper 2% of cash users.
