"Monica Crowley, PhD is going to be one of Trump's U.S. Deputy National Security Advisors.
When you consider she's been writing columns with stuff like this all year It turns out that Mr. Trump is the rule, while Mr. Obama was the anomalous exception, it should come as no surprise."

I first came across Crowley on the McLaughlin Group. A stellar appointment by Trump.
I didn't know McLaughlin passed in August...
She's a keeper.
And thank you for bumping this.
I love Monica. What a fighter.
I knew this was a deborah post the second I saw it. Deborah invented the "overheard" tag and the WLEM AM show.
;)
The new refrigerator is here!
The new refrigerator is here!
I'm so excited. Living out of a cooler for 10 days is lot like living in the stone age.
Ice age, Rabel, stones in the cooler allowed the Mastadon meat to spoil.
She is only 48; I thought she was older.
Crowley worked for Nixon in his later years.
I'd like to know whether they give you a team T-shirt when you get appointed to be one of Donald Trump's U.S. Deputy National Security Advisors.
Rabel, This time of year in Minnesota a garage is a freezer. Going down to -20 this weekend. That's not fucking wind chill, that's the actual temp! Just got back from a walk..nose hairs are deicing.
Eric, baseball cap.
The Low Road
The Low Road by Marge Piercy
What can they do to you?
Whatever they want..
They can set you up, bust you,
they can break your fingers,
burn your brain with electricity,
blur you with drugs till you
can’t walk, can’t remember.
they can take away your children,
wall up your lover;
they can do anything you can’t stop them doing.
How can you stop them?
Alone you can fight, you can refuse.
You can take whatever revenge you can
But they roll right over you.
But two people fighting back to back
can cut through a mob
a snake-dancing fire
can break a cordon,
termites can bring down a mansion
Two people can keep each other sane
can give support, conviction,
love, massage, hope, sex.
Three people are a delegation
a cell, a wedge.
With four you can play games
and start a collective.
With six you can rent a whole house
have pie for dinner with no seconds
and make your own music.
Thirteen makes a circle,
a hundred fill a hall.
A thousand have solidarity
and your own newsletter;
ten thousand community
and your own papers;
a hundred thousand,
a network of communities;
a million our own world.
It goes one at a time.
It starts when you care to act.
It starts when you do it again
after they say no.
It starts when you say we
and know who you mean;
and each day you mean
one more.

I like this, because that is the way it works, regardless of party affiliation.
It also make me smile at the line, "with four you can play games" and I would add "freshen up a blog"!
It's a signed baseball cap, for the personal note, which Trump loves.
Giant bottom freezer drawer. I could get two bodies in there. Maybe three if I folded 'em up just right and took out the icemaker.
Watch where you build your fire, ND.
Thanks for posting that, MamaM - that is a well written piece of advice.
Monica is a tenacious bitch and I love her for it. She's single, so I still have a chance.
Great legs, and a bust to match.
I'm assuming she wears a minimizer so she'll have "Credibility".
In the Name in the News category, the research vessel that was working with the underwater drone recently seized by the Chinese, is the USNS Bowditch.
Nathaniel Bowditch,March 26, 1773 – March 16, 1838 was an early American mathematician remembered for his work on ocean navigation. He is often credited as the founder of modern maritime navigation; his book The New American Practical Navigator, first published in 1802, is still carried on board every commissioned U.S. Naval vessel.
With this as his eulogy: In his death a public, a national, a human benefactor has departed. Not this community nor our country only, but the whole world has reason to do honor to his memory. When the voice of eulogy shall cease to flow, no monument will be needed to keep alive his memory among men; but as long as ships shall sail, the needle point to the north, and the stars go through their wonted courses in the heavens, the name of Dr. Bowditch will be revered as of one who has helped his fellowmen in time of need, who was and is a guide to them over the pathless oceans, and one who forwarded the great interests of mankind.
And now, one of the ships carrying his name and his book has sailed into the center of current events, if not history and Drudge.
I remember Nat Bowditch from history class 59 years.
Doubt kids learn that today.
Mine did, edutcher, because I read them Carry On, Mr Bowditch (a Newberry winner in 1952!) as part of our homeschooling effort. Which ended up teaching me as well, about things I hadn't learned during my trip through the system.
Sweet. I wonder what kind of unnecessary catastrophes she can help get us into.
Many fewer than Hillary and Lurch.
