Trump continues cat and mouse with MSM

"According to Ari Fleischer, former WH press secretary for George W. Bush, Trump may soon go toe-to-toe with a formidable presence: the White House press corps. In an op-ed in today's Wall Street Journal, Fleischer points out, rightly so, that the coveted 49 seats in the WH briefing room are doled out primarily to mainstream media, with few going to digital outlets such as, ahem, IJR, for example. Right now, the White House Correspondents' Association determines who gets which seats, but Fleischer ponders a scenario where the Trump administration takes back assigning power, writing, “the valuable West Wing real estate occupied by the White House press corps isn't the property of the press. It belongs to the U.S. Government.”"

I would like to see Trump expand the number of reporters eligible to sit in the WH Press room to 300-400, including mostly non MSM people. Then just rotate. Dilute access by the swamp dwellers who have been there forever. Too bad Helen Thomas is dead. I would LOVE to have seen Trump handle that hag.

Mass media is dying and needs to be scaled back in favor of digital and other alternative media (National Enquirer and London Daily Mail, our real newspapers of record).

That said, I can imagine Troop, EBL, the Bluebird of Happiness, and Rabel or DBQ in the same room with Black Rock or the Gray Lady.

It would draw better than the Friday Night Fights.

Thanks for the suggestion, Ed, but it ain't no way I'm going one-on-one with the Maddow dude from MSNBC. Zhe lifts, bro.

The only reason I can think of that President Trump might go along with the MSM's big government liberal globalist control of the White House briefing room would be his plausible fear that reporters from Breitbart and Infowars and The Daily Caller etc. would ask much more pointed questions, questions he couldn't as easily finesse, when he begins the inevitable backsliding from candidate Trump's promises.

Okay, Sixty? Happy now?

ricpic is a "naysayer." But w/ the Trump cheerleader, it's like Animal Farm, some "naysayers" are more equal than others. ric, you'll get a pass.

Trump should meet the press wearing a beard, an army uniform , smoking a cigar and invite the MSM to kiss hiss ass too.

Nobody from NYT or WashPost. That would be a start.

"naysayer"

I remember what a shock it was to my system when My Old Man called me out as a counterpuncher. But he didn't break the habit!

Sorry I was logged in on the wrong account.

What I meant to say was:

Trump should take back the ability to assign seats to the White House Press center. Another thing that George W Bush fucked up.

He needs to use it to reward his friends and punish his enemies. To ric's point he should give it to certain digital web sites including Breitbart, Infowars, Gateway Pundit and even some of his enemies like the Huffington Post and HotAir. He loves to smack the press around and if he give some liberal blog slots instead of ABC, NBC or CBS they will lead the charge in dissing the older mainstream media. He can slap around some bitch from the Huffington Post just as easy as those slut bag Katy Tur and Jake Tapper. I bet he can make them cry.

I would also give the newspaper slots to local papers and throw out the New York Times, Washington Post and Wall Street Journal. Put in some conservative Republican local papers and let the liberal commie douche bag press to suck ass.

Judging by Trump's treatment at the White House Correspondence Dinner; I think they are going to have a tough argument that he is being mean to them by taking away something that's not theirs anyway.

The whole WH press corps is an anachronism. Disband it and the press can submit their questions on line. And the Trump admin can reply in writing on line. Problem solvbed.

Now as for those big White House parties I suggest Trump invite at least 100 common people to every event and the govt should pay their way to the event.

Should be a very interesting Correspondents' dinner...wonder which comedian will headline.

Cat and mouse is the wrong metaphor, IMHO.

If I'm wrong, and it is the right metaphor, then I think less of Mr. Trump.

Play less. Accomplish more.

When those press conferences are held, they will be with President Trump. Stein missed the PA deadline, but they will have plenty to discuss.

People in the WI recount say expect lots of vote fraud to be revealed, including out of state voting, non citizens voting, people voting multiple times, and nursing home violations.

Do the Cheeseheads use machines because I'll bet that's another one that will come out.

deborah, I would look for Carrot Top to get the gig.

Trump can get Kid Rock to sing Sweet Home Alabama at the nerd prom, and we can sit back and watch them literally shake.

Now that would be cruel. It's too slow, but his 'Only God Knows,' would fit better. A happy medium is Little Pink Houses.

One of the people near to my heart refers to Donald as The Trumper, which makes me wonder if the game of Bridge is closer to what's being played than Cat and Mouse?

When a suit becomes the trump suit, any card in that trump suit potentially has special powers; any card in the trump suit can win a trick over any card of another suit.
