Good for the Cubbies.

Chicago will celebrate in the usual way, with perhaps a few more shootings than normal.

That was a good game. Should have never went into extra innings because of a missed 3rd strike. For a while I thought the Cubs were going to get screwed because of that.

The players picked up their manager who made some bad moves the last couple games. "All's well that ends well." The owner, Ricketts is part of a big Republican family. Just yesterday Sheldon Adelson gave $25million to the Ricketts Super Pac to help put Trump in the WH. Karma?

I have loved this World Series, focused by happenstance (not to mention coincidence) as it is on teams from flyover country, formerly known as the heartland.

Start to finish, this World Series has been grand: a great, good thing, and I am grateful for it.

I am a child of the heartland.

^^^^ I'd have no problem saying that even if Cleveland had won, and make no silly mistake about it.

For the record, my husband was rooting for the Indians, on account of his being a native Kansan. ; ) Still, that said, he and I share, um, a shared heritage, so to speak (as Trooper Yorker used to say, for example, so very many years ago).

To you, Trooper.

You dismissive guy who both wants to claim the hip and the sharp and the savvy and the self-sufficient and the religious ALL THE WHILE dismissing the notion that it really, really isn't just about you.

In fact, you, too, are a product of your age and time:

I consider myself to be the Martin Mull character. I'm thinking you're the entirely cynical kid (100% justified in his cynicism, not to mention his views about things) rolling his eyes, on account of his ALSO having been subjected to B.S. over the course of a lifetime, and therefore, god damn it, just having gotten entirely fed up with the crap, already.

Ah, well, at least the Tribe made it there.

They're going to broadcast 4 semi-final MLS games this Sunday. I assume there's still plenty of room on the DVR. I guess you can hate Democrats and still like the Cubs. I see no reason to get politics mixed up with sports entertainment. One of the nice things about baseball players wearing hats is it discourages outlandish hairdos.

Kate Smith. LOL. I see what you did there. Funny.

I don't follow Baseball or really any sports, but I am very happy for the Cubs and their fans. It's been a long time coming.

My dearly departed aunt's brother lives in Chicago. I'm sure he's excited. So that makes me happy. yay Cubs.

How did I get involved?

I am just minding my own business here and fighting with people about the Real Housewives of Orange County on Previously TV.

I didn't watch it as I don't have cable. I was able to follow it because the guy who lives upstairs is from Cleveland and he was having parties for every game. So when there was shouting or screaming I would check my phone. Then late at night I heard people leaving like they were leaving a funeral so I was sure that the Cubs won.

So I didn't watch any of the series.

Tell me did Albert Belle hit any homers?

I had a good time watching that game as fortunes changed several times and either outcome was acceptable to me, though I hoped the Cubs would win after watching them rally together.

I've reached a place of acceptance with regard to the election as well. Hillary's lies have finally caught up with her and that tarnish cannot be burnished away or easily glossed over with a win, while Trump will remain too orange and brassy to enjoy any media peace. A presidency of either one of them will invite us into further consideration of what matters most and what values are worth our commitment and life energy.

What an epic WS. When the stakes are high you can't beat Baseball for the tension. You can't get a lead and "run out the clock" or go into a prevent defense.

Exactly.

And, therefore, at any and every given moment, the reality is this:
