Trump Campaign: NYT Published Tax Docs ‘Illegally Obtained’ After Editor Promised He Would Go to Jail over Trump Taxes
Breitbart News by Matthew Boyle October 2, 2016
NEW YORK CITY, New York — The New York Times“illegally obtained” tax documents of GOP presidential nominee Donald J. Trump from 1995 just weeks after the newspaper’s executive editor pledged he would go to prison to get such documents, the Trump campaign says.
“The only news here is that the more than 20-year-old alleged tax document was illegally obtained, a further demonstration that the New York Times, like establishment media in general, is an extension of the Clinton Campaign, the Democratic Party and their global special interests,” the Trump campaign said in a statement about the publishing of the documents. “What is happening now with the FBI and DOJ on Hillary Clinton’s emails and illegal server, including her many lies and her lies to Congress are worse than what took place in the administration of Richard Nixon – and far more illegal.”
The news comes just a few weeks after in early September the New York Times’ executive editor Dean Baquet said he would go to jail to print Trump’s tax returns, even if he obtained them illegally.
“Dean Baquet, the top editor at the New York Times, said he’d publish a story on Donald Trump’s taxes even if it means risking jail time,” CNN Money’s Chris Isidore reported back on Sept. 12. “He made the remark during a Harvard University forum Sunday, when he was asked about the legal risks tied to publishing a leaked or hacked copy of Trump’s taxes.”
“I think every journalist on the planet wants Donald Trump’s tax returns,” Laura Poitras, an Academy Award-winning filmmaker who made a documentary about leaker Edward Snowden, told Baquet and Washington Post editor Bob Woodward at the event.
But, according to Isidore, Poitras told both Baquet and Woodward “that the lawyers for their newspapers would probably warn them that they’d face jail time for publishing such information.”
Baquet told her he would publish the tax documents even if he illegally obtained them because Trump is, in his words, “a presidential candidate whose whole campaign is built on his success as a business man, and his wealth.”
Woodward also said he would go to jail too over it.
“Some things you have to do. Dean is exactly right. This defines Donald Trump,” Woodward said.
(Of course as Drudge has reported the New York Times did not pay taxes last year even though it had a substantial profit. Trumps loss resulted from a forgiveness of debt. Not that he went bankrupt. That other people who owed him money went bankrupt. Which of course being in business he is allowed to debuct as a loss carryforward.
This release of his state tax forms was obviously the work of partisans in the tax department. Much the way Obama ran the IRS. This of course will not be discussed in the scumbag press. The illegality of releasing his tax return will also not be discussed. As Trump has said. It is all rigged. The press. The courts. The governmental taxing authorities. The Sun people. They are all rigging the process. The FBI will not prosecute bald faced crimes. They dump documents on Fridays. They sit there and lie to Congress. The Dirt people have to wake up.
Before it is too late.)

They said they'd go to jail over this. Let's give them what they really fear and loathe: a big collective "so what?"
I heard that the woman who broke the story was already full of herself because she sees a Pulitzer. "I saved the world, man"
Yawn, superfucking yawn.
It's really wonderful.
These people, so superior, show they're just another pack of thugs when you come down to it. All their talk about being smarter and having all the college grads on their side (those making less than 35 grand, anyway) was what it was back in the 60s when they said it was the grown-ups that lied, only to have it proven time and again they were the ones who lied.
If nothing else, Donald Trump, more than anybody else, has made these people expose themselves for what they really are, and for that we owe him our gratitude.
PS Just to show its sister, the WaPo is no better and quite possibly worse, consider this story about a woman with serious mental problems held up as an example of a Trump supporter.
What was that line the Lefties love to quote?
Oh, yeah, "Have you no sense of decency?".
I must be a super weird person or something because if I wanted to peel Trump supporters away from Trump, I'd realize that they need to be given an alternative. The notion that because a particular person has long been convinced that if they can only show someone else that they'll be *forced* to agree on the same basis is absurd.
I saved the world?
Absurd.
It's a bit like trying to convince someone that Bill *really* was a rapist and that Hillary *really* knowingly harassed his victims... they know that already. Proving it will make no difference whatsoever.
I've got 8 to 5 that says $20 Harry Reid set this up.
