Transpanda sex with Charles Bukowski

BE KIND

we are always asked
to understand the other person's
viewpoint
no matter how
out-dated
foolish or
obnoxious.

one is asked
to view
their total error
their life-waste
with
kindliness,
especially if they are
aged.

but age is the total of
our doing.
they have aged
badly
because they have
lived
out of focus,
they have refused to
see.

not their fault?

whose fault?
mine?

I am asked to hide
my viewpoint
from them
for fear of their
fear.

age is no crime

but the shame
of a deliberately
wasted
life

among so many
deliberately
wasted
lives

is.

BE A STONE

Compassion is great. No, it really is. But it won't solve the problem
Of the shlub who really is a shlub but wants to be a butterfly.
Help me, Ann Landers. Help me, Dear Abby, says the shlub.
Help me to not be lonely to not be bored. Take away the cloud.
And Ann and Abby are all too happy to oblige
By telling the shlub to explore his or her inner potential,
To dig deep and be creative and find the ocean of richness...inside.
In other words to *poof* become a butterfly.
Which he can't do. Why? BECAUSE HE'S A SHLUB.
It's all very sad, very gut wrenching.
But only if you care. So don't. Don't care.
Stop agonizing over the misery that is ubiquitous.
Become a stone.
That's what Henry Miller counseled.
And he ended up a best seller!
