The sublime Pasty Cline.

One of the top ten female vocalists I have ever heard.

@Troop: There is a Patsy Cline tag. Please give her that honor.

Below is my current Pandora Shuffle, which I'm getting tired of. They tend to overplay a limited number of songs from each artist. I suppose it has something to do with royalty deals.

Any suggestions for something new would be appreciated.

I don't live alone, so don't judge me. Some of that I would never pick, but it's a democratic dictatorship here.

Sheryl Crow Radio

??

I don't live alone, so don't judge me.

Man cannot live by two-square, two-ply alone.

My haircut place is called Floyd's (after Mayberry) and they have their own online radio station. It's mostly classic rock. With modern pop. I don't know how your dealio works, if this is even an option.

http://www.customchannels.net/streaming/floyds/

It's very nice and you will like it or else.

I meant to say, you will like probably for sure.

But I am troubled. For I too have Patsy Cline singing to me with transfixing melodic fidelity and with hypnotic political suggestions. Were it not for the annoying steel guitar screwing around then she'd have me. First it all about walking after midnight thinking of me, and then she goes don't it make my brown eyes blue and I'm annoyed because they've always been blue. Where did she come up with this brown stuff? Was she thinking about somebody else? And who's sorry now? I am! Then she goes, my che-heating heart will make me weep, I'll cry and cry and try to sleep but sleep won't come the whole night through, my cheating heart will tell on me." Son of a bitch! Then she's singing, about stinky cigarettes in an ashtray. She's Crazy.

I used to live in a town that was full of Clines. And Klines and any other variation on spelling that ends up with something that sounds like "cline". I was more of an anticline, but that's a story for another day.

A woman from down Winchester way named Viginia married Gerald Cline and moved to town. She liked to sing and he didn't like her attracting attention to herself. So she got divorced and went on to become famous as Patsy Cline. People still talk about her, and can point out the house that she and Gerald lived in, and every last person who was around in those days will claim to have seen her or known her family and so on and so on.

Don't it Make My Brown Eyes Blue was by Crystal Gayle and was first recorded more than a decade after Patsy's death. Believe it or not, it is not a trivial achievement to grow one's hair out long enough to reach the floor, assuming one is standing and of average height. Trooper's hair reaches the floor, but that's due to a different reason.

@ Bago

How about some Bob Seeger in your mix. I didn't see any Santana.

BTW: Is anyone else having sudden difficulty connecting to any PJMedia sites. Instapundit? I'm not the only one as I have done a check about connectivity and others are also complaining. Just recently within the last 3 or 4 days.

Maybe someone who can send an email to PJmedia or Instapundit would let them know?

Surprisingly, DBQ, I never had those in the constantly changing mix. I'll add them.

I love Pandora, but even with all those different stations on rotation I still hear the same songs too much. We have it playing here all the time. I have a small FM transmitter connected to my laptop that broadcasts whatever is on the computer as a local FM radio station so that any radio within about 1/2 mile can pick it up by just tuning to the frequency. It's a great way to get the same music available through the whole house and outside.

I also got tired of hearing the same songs over and over. Although my mix was not as large as yours....I'm going to add some of your selections. When I get sick of Pandora, I stream from my Itunes library to some blue tooth speakers that we have in the house and on the deck. The library consists of about 200 CDs that bought. I uploaded and a whole lot of mostly oldies and other types of music that we stole,.....I mean downloaded when Napster was a big deal. Very eclectic mix I must admit.

This downloading was on an old Windows 95 computer and a dial up modem....was all we had at that time. We were determined to get those songs on our floppy discs. My husband and I have fond memories of those times sitting in the office, downing some cocktails and downloading songs and each song would trigger memory of another one to down load. Long into the night...remembering songs from our youth and obscure artists.

Obscure like This I remember listening to this on the AM radio when my family was traveling in our old station wagon across Arizona on Route 66 with the waterbags on the radiator and the metal swamp cooler hanging on the window....no AC.

It is a kick to follow up something like that one with something entirely different

Random play rules!!!

So we have THOUSANDS of songs on our library and could probably listen for days without any repeats.

You had to be there. It was the early 60s and she could do no wrong.

She was hot about the same time Ray Charles came out with "Modern Sounds In Country & Western Music".

Just about every song in the album charted and at least half made the top 40.

If Baby Ray took country Uptown and up tempo, Miss Patsy gave it heart and class. And the two of them took the hillbilly out of country and made it mainstream.

It could truly be said of her what Dick Dawson once said to Beverly Sills, "I thought all the angels were in Heaven until I heard you sing".
