¡Hillary! Live Tweets The GOP Debate En Español

Hillary has begun tweeting in Spanish (who knew she knew Spanish):
Fomentar la violencia contra manifestantes y miembros de la prensa en tus eventos es una desgracia. #GOPdebate

translation: "Fomenting violence against demonstrators and members of the press at your events is a disgrace"
I predict that her foray into foreign tongues will go down like Huma Abedin does in the public eye - like a zepelín de plomo.

Watch especially for Marco Rubio's reaction. He might echo her, depending on whose side he's on.

I had never before read Hillary's tweet stream. It's plainly obvious that she connects primarily with women and womens' issues. One could say that she's obsessed with womens' issues. Is this the sort of person we need as POTUS?

I mean, it's prima facie obvious that she'd reject or ignore 50% of the population from the get-go.

She'll drop us as soon as her crony money-schemes kick in again.

Chelsea Clinton has billions to look forward to.

7 ways Hillary is like your abuela.

Rubio owns it on Cuba.

Not once has Trump owned it on anything except to hide behind his anti-PC macho.

Bottom line is people like Hillary, Obama and Trump don't care about the constant never ending repression of the Cuban people.

As for Hillary - she is disgusting and vile - even in Spanish, and I am still convinced Donny is gonna hand it to her.

That's uncivil, but I'd like to see the video.

I don't think there is any conspiracy, and now that he has a shot, he's gonna go for it, but I do think his take over of the Republican party may give it to her according to the polls.

Although I don't for a second think this is what's happening, I think it's fascinating to imagine though what would happen if he did give it to her on purpose. If out of lack of desire or actual fraud he just kinda gave up in the general. How would the public react? What could be done. She still would have won fair and square, and have a majority backing her. Imagine the outrage, but at who would we be mad? What would we call for? Revolution? We chose freely.

I don't think it's a conspiracy. I think it's a combination of misplaced anger, and delusion about his chances with the general voting population.

The only spark of a conspiracy for me is that while yes, of course Trump wants to win, I think he will not mind losing to Hillary. It's his back-up plan. Hatred of the dreaded GOPe Trumps everything, with his supporters and him.

I love the idea of alternative histories, but I never actually read one. Anybody have a recommendation?

All Trump ever did was play to the Ozark Mafia's ego. They always saw themselves as the next Kennedys.

He was just being smart.

Bagoh: I don't know if this sort of thing might be for you, but you might want to consider the series of books (I think there are 3, but I only have two, and I read them years ago, so maybe there are more) edited by military historian Robert Cowley. The books are a collection of essays on various "What If" scenarios in history, and the topics cover a range if counterfactuals. You might find one of these books of essays a goid way to dip into this area of interest. As I said, it's been years since I read the ones I picked up, but I recall finding them interesting at the time.

There's something else I think I'd suggest, but damned if I can place the name or even the author! Serious brain burp, or early-onset senior moment, but if I can remember or stumble across the book in my house somewhere, I'll check back in.

If you Google Cowley and "What If" you should be able to find sources for the series, or maybe they'd be in your local library? And sorry fir typos and no links: I'm away from home and on my phone, so too annoying.

Try Harry Turtledoves "How Few Remain."

The South wins the Civil War. Lincoln lives and becomes a socialist outcast. Custer and Teddy Roosevelt serve together in the invasion of Canada.

It is the first in a series of about twenty books that trace this timeline up through WW2.

Puffington is moaning about significantly lower Demo turnout, blaming voter ID.

Better verification, the return of the Reagan Democrats, the possibility of increased black support, amped-up voters.

Some credit goes to the states, much to The Donald.

"If The Allies Had Fallen", better than 60 essays on alternative outcomes of WWII by various writers. Great discussion of the Luzon vs Formosa spat (like many academics, the author zaps MacArthur unjustly).

If you want something more like a novel, try "Second Front" by Alexander M. Grace. I liked the essays better, but to each his own.

And yes, I regret the grammatical errors in my first comment.

She can lie in two languages now.

Bagoh,
Agree with rcommal about the What If series. You can dip in and out of it.
Also, try "Delenda Est" by Poul Anderson - and Poul Anderson sci fi stories in general. He's good! "Delenda Est" is about time travelers meddling in the past and causing the deaths of important Roman generals leading to Rome being sacked by Hannibal. The western world does not get the Greco-Roman cultural foundation, with some good and some bad results. A time traveler agent in this alternate timeline has to decide whether to go back and restore the original timeline.

Wow, that all sounds fascinating, and just what I'm looking for. Thanks guys. I wish everything was available on audio books - I'd be a lot smarter.
