I get the sense that while growing up Sinead didn't experience the best mothering in the world. Maybe that's why she sings so movingly about a mother's love. "This Is To Mother You" can break your heart even if you listen to it sober.......Sinead is less threatening and more sympathetic now that she's no longer beautiful. Beauty masks everything, even mental illness. You can hear her grand talent more clearly now that you are no longer distracted by her good looks. I hope her life has a happy ending. Stranger things have happend.
If I could have made out more than half the words I'd have something to say. But I couldn't. This inability has forever kept me from participating in the deep gnostic wisdom of the tragically hip.
It's not so much that beauty masks mental illness, it's that the average mope, myself included, determines that he'll ignore the crazy because he must have her.
I think walls signal a failure of human relations. The problem with Trump's wall is that once it's built, people will think that the problem is solved. It won't be. People will still sneak through. Worse, it may inhibit reforms in e-verify and non-existent sanctions on employers.
There was a very interesting exchange over on Althouse the other day between gabriel and Sammy Finkelman about how the current laws and or non enforcement of labor laws inhibits employers from stopping the hiring of illegals. Since both Republican and Democratic elite are absolutely and irrevocably wedded to the notion of open borders (despite what they say), it's a very depressing future indeed.

She shares quality that many of my favorite women singers posses. Etta James. Julie London. Lola Albright. Anita O'Day.
They all have it. You can feel it in your bones.
