Supremes Put Obama's 'Global Warming' Regs on Ice

ABC News: A divided Supreme Court agreed Tuesday to halt enforcement of President Barack Obama's sweeping plan to address climate change until after legal challenges are resolved.

The surprising move is a blow to the administration and a victory for the coalition of 27 mostly Republican-led states and industry opponents that call the regulations "an unprecedented power grab."

By issuing the temporary freeze, a 5-4 majority of the justices signaled that opponents made strong arguments against the rules. The high court's four liberal justices said Tuesday they would have denied the request for delay.

Isn't it weird how the lib-sups always vote in lock step and never get called on it?

(cheeky)

It seems like a serious defect in our system that the most important questions are decided almost entirely along partisan lines with one wild card. It just seems stupid and unpredictable, and I doubt that the founders expected it to be this way.

'm no expert on the subject, but isn't it true that the conservative justices are generally much more accomplished and respected people than the liberal ones? I would think so since they were not nominated due to their sex or ethnicity.

One more Dem or GOPe president and the Supremes are gone to the dark side. I don't have to tell you what that means for the future of the country do I? Or are you all such sophisticates that you can't see the obvious?

Obama, Hillary, or Bill could be added to the court. There is only one candidate on the Republican side who I could see doing that based on their stated love and respect for all three.

Yes, ricpic. When things have turned out ok many think that outcome was the only, inevitable one, not realizing how many other possible horrible outcomes were avoided merely by accident of chance/fate. 'There's many a slip twix the cup and the lip" as the old--and all too often forgotten-- proverb goes.

It's is very cold right now in Western Wisconsin. Friday night it will get down to -20ยบ. I thought that the Arctic was going to be ice free because of this climate change bullshit.

The vote should have been 9-0.

It's not like we can outsource power plants. Maybe that's what Obama wants for Canada and Mexico to sell us power?

That's no different than the electorate voting and candidates catering to the 20% or so moderates.
