“Afghanistan is a dangerous place”

"Pentagon Avoids the Word ‘Combat’ After Another U.S. Soldier Killed in Afghanistan"
Pentagon press secretary Peter Cook, briefing reporters even as hostilities in Marjah were still reported to be underway, said he could not comment on claims by the Taliban that it had brought down the helicopter, or that it had been hit by a mortar while on the ground.
Cook was asked several times, in different ways, whether U.S. forces were in fact engaged in combat in Afghanistan, but did not answer directly.
“Could you explain the context of what’s going on in Marjah that required U.S. combat presence given that combat mission is over?” Cook was asked.
“Well as you know, we’re conducting ‘train, advise and assist’ in Helmand province,” he replied.
Cook was unable to clarify the mission involving the U.S. special operations troops and their Afghan counterparts.
“I cannot tell you with specificity at this point exactly what they were doing there at this particular time, other than this was an operation that was consistent with that ‘train, advise and assist’ mission.”

This is why political correctness is a scourge. When you can't name or use the appropriate language to describe the truth, you in effect are complicit in the degradation of your country and it's language. You are complicit in the lies that are untold that diminish us all.

Too much Star Trek.

It fires the imagination. It does mine.

Yeah, we Trekkie types imagine war as fought in science fictions and we see no reason for it not to be so.

The special forces materialize within hotspots, take their shots, bust their moves, grab their hostages, their target, their victim, their Mcguffin, plant their bomb, and dematerialize.

And when it doesn't happen that way there are simply no words to discuss what did happen. It's not avoidance, there's no vocabulary for it. As if it occurred in another dimension or in a place centuries apart.

Please, a little patience. The phase disrupters are already planted and soon enough the the whole place will be so out of phase dis-synched their entire existence will be through banded gradient and no more Tally ban tally me banana. Bvvvvvvvvvvvt *turns to dots and disappears*

Can anyone imagine the tortuous tedious meetings conducted by Obama admin propagandists? Someone has to eventually spill the beans and release the many emails and memos that warn govt employees against using words such as combat, Islam radical, etc. The fucking crazy leftist lawyers, like Obama, are running every dept with a tight rein. Every executive order and White House policy [guns, immigration etc] has stretched our laws to the nth degree and broken our laws in many cases.

I hope some Repub candidate will promise to gut the ridiculous number of employees in the Exec Office Bldg down to a couple hundred and get rid of the rest.
