Why Donald Trump is leading in the race for the nomination all spelled out in one sentence.
TRUMP: "So, they can kill us, but we can’t kill them? That’s what you’re saying?"
Simple. Declarative. Everybody understands what he means. No political bullshit. No phony nuance. No pandering to the pajama boys and the liberal press.
They are coming to our Christmas parties to kill us. To our malls. To our supermarkets. Restaurants. Deli's. Bus stops. Just like Paris. Just like Israel.
Once upon a time when America was at war with an intractable enemy we rained down destruction on them. We bombed them until the rubble bounced. We turned their homeland into ash and destruction. Were the people who did that inhumane beasts? Racists? Murderer's? FDR. Truman. Eisenhower.
Or were they Americans. Leaders who put America First. Not the sensibilities of the Muslim world. Not the Saudi's. Not Wolf Blitzer or Chris Matthews or the broad with the tampon earrings. Ordinary everyday Americans who are not protected by security guards and gated communities. The type of people who are at a government departments Christmas party. Or spectators at the Boston Marathon. Or people working at their office in the World Trade Center.
Some things are not that complicated. Trump understands that. The people who support him understand that. It is that simple.
Complicate it all you want. But there is a term for that.
Bullshit.

Can the man nail it or not?
Maybe he's no Reagan or even FDR, but, God, he can encapsulate the problem in a simple declarative sentence which, unless I'm far off, is the mark of a Great Communicator.
It think the series of questions pointed to the differences between Trump and Cruz. When Wolfie started to pee his panties and asked about the civilians in the ISIS capital Cruz blinked. He demurred. He didn't say straight out that he was going to do what it takes.
"Excuse me President Roosevelt. Are you aware of all the civilians in Dresden who are put at risk by the Allied bombing campaign. Shouldn't more of your soldiers die instead of reigning down destruction on an evil regime?"
Don't get me wrong. I think Cruz would do it. He just is not honest enough to say it out loud. He buys into what CNN and Fox and media are selling. He is following their narrative.
That's the difference right there.
Jeb Bush would say we should just show them the love and they will change their evil ways.

Bullshit.
Or as the left would call it:
Nuanced.
Obama will say we should just let them immigrate because everyone in the world had more rights than American Citizens so we should make it easy for them to come here and kill us in the name of Allah.
Because you know the future does not belong to those who slander the Prophet of Allah.
Carly Forina would not sell them a copier.
Ben Carson will let the rest of you figure that one out.
First a moment of silence.
Marco Rubio will tell you he can't tell you what he would do because it is a secret and he can't tell the American people because they are not entitled to that information.
Rand Paul said he would have the terrorist vaccinated.
That will teach them.
Chris Christie said that as a former US Attorney there is only one appropriate punishment.
He would sit on them. Naked. In the Summer. At the Jersey Shore.

This is why Cruz makes (some) people a little nervous. He can be nuanced. we've had way too much nuance the last few decades.
Which is why The Donald does so well.

On a CNN show they were interviewing some American Muslims. The interviewees said that Trump's rhetoric would encourage Muslims to join ISIS. Statements like that cause me a lot of agita. Joining ISIS or threatening to join ISIS is not a legitimate way to contest an American election.......And the CNN news person didn't ask a single skeptical question. Is stabbing random Israeli civilians a legitimate way to protest Israel's settlement policy? Should Muslims here stab random civilians to protest our support for Israel? The Muslims argue in bad faith and the news people don't call them on it.......Trump is over the top. That might be a good thing. Some Muslim leader might want to get up before the UN and say that the future of Islam does not belong to those who chant death to America. I'd like to see a little more prudent worry about American backlash in the Muslim world.
None of those people from the past would have suggested, condoned or done what Trump suggested about killing families of terrorists, although the people they fought and defeated would have, and yet we won anyway. We truly are not worthy of our lineage, and we should not invoke their names to validate the kind of values they fought against. And true, there is nothing nuanced about it.
So basically they can kill us but we can't kill them.
Good to know.
Basically the Obama/Hillary policy. Political Correctness trumps reality. There are a perfectly acceptable number of Americans who can be killed that will not disrupt the golf game.
It will be hundreds of mini Benghazis all over the place.
After all what difference at this point does it make.
Just because I don't agree with Trump's tough talk beer commercial policy of the week doesn't mean I support Obama's. Trump is playing you like the guy who thinks that brand of beer is gonna get him laid. The policy I support is the kind those real American leaders mentioned in the post would use. Old-fashioned American values - not Imperial Japanese, or Gestapo.
None of those guys mentioned would say most of the things Trump has, but I'm sure that's because he's way out of their league. His nomination will elect Hillary unless something crazy happens, like her indictment, or a terrible attack which gets people reacting rather than thinking.
Simple. Declarative. Everybody understands what he means.
Akshully, those are two simple interrogatives but don't HIT ME for pointing it out. *ducks* I'm only here to *ducks* help. That's all. *ducks* STOP THROWING THINGS!!!11111111

Lessee now, FDR put the AJAs into concentration camps and Truman and Ike deported the illegals.

Trump is a dangerous man, just like Obama - a man with no respect for American exceptonalism. I bet neither of them could articulate what is exceptional, but Obama would probably get it half right. Trump would just say because we're great.
Bags, I agree the notion of bombing the cities to rubble until it bounced is not what I would like to see the US do in response to two nutjobs with AKs or even 20 on a plane with box cutters. But lets be honest, Dresden was hit hard, but not as hard as Nagasaki. We did both. I have no problem making it clear that we are capable of doing it again if certain people don't stop doing dumb things. I do have problems saying we absolutely will not do so, because "turn the other cheek".
