San Francisco sheriff who championed sanctuary city policy has been thrown out of office by voters.

SF Gate reports partial returns show Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi with 31% support to opponent Hennessy's 62%.

That's down the list, though, more important to SF voters rejected a proposal to restrict Airbnb and construction of luxuriy housing in the Mission District.

Also, in Houston Texas this time, voters overwhelmingly rejected a transgender-rights ordinance that would allow penises in girls and women bathrooms. The losers vow to keep on fighting.

No doubt.

And they know by experience that it's just a matter of time that nag nag nagging like erosion really does work even if at geologic pace it still works. They are right. Eventually they will have what they want. Even if they must publish names of donors illegally. Even if they have IRS agents release private and protected information illegally. Even if they have to drive good people out of their jobs immorally. Even if they must blacklist. Even if they must gain institutional capture over generations, like erosion they will keep at it until they have what they want even while opening new areas for agitation. That is what experience shows them. "No" to a salesman means, "please, more information. Much, much, more."

Washington Times.

I'm quite used to mixed-sex bathrooms. What's the big problem anyway? I guess it's a problem with large crowds. In that case then a third option is not unreasonable.

But this is not a real problem. Speaking from experience with public bathrooms and problems with digestion in public. A few incidents come to mind. In one such instance at Whole Foods a line was formed at the men's bathroom and nothing at women's so I burst into the women's did my poo and left with no problem. Coming out and passing the same line of guys was a bit odd, but not of them broke rank.

Another emergency at Ace Hardware a key is needed. I cannot say that the woman interjecting herself at that critical moment in that critical spot is lesbian but her t-shirt sleeve rolled up holding a package of Lucky Strikes and the wallet in her front pocket attached by a chain to a belt loop of her blue jeans and her motorcycle boots were suggestive, seeing me rushing and sensing emergency she said, "Occupied!" She whipped out a key and opened women's door for me before I got there. She was fast. And I thank her profusely.

The whole issue is contrived. Save for schools and auditoriums. But they'll have a law affecting all businesses. Eventually. And even in Texas.

In other words, cognac beats saki.

If only the rejection of crazy ideas translated to the presidential.

Hillary will not be asked for example: Do you think it's an overreach to allow men in women bathrooms?

Waiting for the demand for urinals in women's bathrooms.

Then I will have the vapors at seeing some guy with his plumbing pulling it out. I will be shaken, terrified, and nauseated, and ask for a safe space away from the penis.

Because why do HIS feelings -- which I cannot see and which are HIS responsibility -- be foisted on those of us who want to tuck ourselves into our bras and not expose our tummy fat to males while we adjust our garments.

What gets me is a unisex one in addition to the usual is not big whoop (although involves more $$ outlay for businesses) and yet it is met by howls of discrimination.

Grow. Up.

(And I have NEVER seen a line at the men's room, Chip. Were you at a football game?)

Really? How does that work? How do you get used to the violation of decency and modesty?

Just make all bathrooms single stall- single person use. It will cost billions of dollars - but it will save lives!

GOP should take note. Nobody R or D or I likes the idea that illegals have more rights and freedoms than our own citizens.

I'm a sink pooper. I just prefer it. I like to sit up high and have a view when I go. I knew I was sink pooper from a very young age, and I believe I was born a sink pooper. I have a right to express my innate identity. You deal with it.

"Can you spare a square?"

Who among us has never been in an opposite sex restroom?

I've never seen a line for the bathroom either. This was in Boulder and I have no idea what was going on.

Deb, I have never been in a lady's public rest room except to fix the plumbing or clean it, and you gals are gross.

It's another double standard: A man can very likely get arrested for that, but when women go in ours, it's cute, and funny, which is exactly how it should be. Some double standards are appropriate, because we actually are not equal in a lot of obvious ways.

When I was in basic training, they had open bay latrines. Communal pooping, in my estimation, does not lead to unit cohesion and is extremely gross. Put me down as one of those prissy types who are opposed to open bay latrines, even in same sex bathrooms......Pooping is not an elegant or graceful activity. Even dogs look self conscious when they poop. Poopng should ideally be done in a private and isecure environment. We need more privacy not less in our bathrooms. There's a reason they call them privies.

Only in San Fran could such a clown be elected in the first place, and then survive the wife-beating scandal. FINALLY he exits. What a douchebag. He'll fail upwards somehow, stumbling and bumbling and screwing up other peoples' lives every step of the way.

He had a string of other "issues" and the political establishment still backed him. It was fine so long as it was all in the family but embarrassing the people of San Francisco on a national level was the final straw. Buh bye. For now. Until he pops up as lieutenant guv'nor or secretary of bullshit time and money wasting efforts for the good of the peepul. Why, I believe there's a slow but expensive choo choo train to nowhere that needs a conductor. Perfect! He could just slightly modify his strikingly martial looking dark green uniform, maybe take a 15 minute oral exam about train methodology and presto, new gummint job.

Really, what doomed the Houston ERO (besides its campy name) was the way the city council first put it into affect without listening to the voters. Even with the measure failing, there is no "ban" on transgendered using either restroom. Rejecting HERO allows for individual businesses, and places of worship, to make their own decisions. If patrons of the business don't like it, then they simply choose another business.

And before anyone decries the return of Jim Crow, perhaps they should go study history. Jim Crow were a set of laws that also forced business to discriminate. HERO itself is closer to Jim Crow Laws than the rejection of both HERO and Jim Crow. When businesses are allowed to operate in a free market, those that broad-brush reject clients tend not to do well.
