Paris reaction

Answering commenter Amartel at the end of the previous post, Obama: I'm Not Interested in "American Leadership or America Winning.
[Instead] go on the offensive, shaming everyone who questions them, dithering over semantics and optics, and continuing merrily on doubling and tripling down on the same failed policies that got us to this point in the first place.
Two articles discuss similar views.

It's too late to save France by Rick Moran on PJ Media

The French you would expect to defend France have given up. They justify evil by entertaining the idea that French society has let down the terrorist by being insufficiently inclusive. They are frozen in doubt and cannot summon the courage or the energy to fight back. Similar to Hitler walking though France because the nation was similarly traumatized by WWI they lost the energy to acknowledge the threat straight on and protect themselves.

The piece is contradicted in the first  comment by the godfather of PJ Media. Simon believes the cite and the samples provided do not represent France, that the rest of the nation is not like that.

Why the Paris Massacre Will Have Limited Impact on Danielpipes.org.

Pipes describes France as divided by the governed who tend to move right incrementally with each Islamic terror related incident and a ruling elite that moves left incrementally with each incident. The more right the people, the more left the leaders. So the citizens see such policies as increased immigration even as they grieve over loss and rage for concrete defensive action. That dynamic balances and so nothing happens. Pipes concludes, eventually things change through elections but weakened and decades too late.

We noticed that too. Comments here are rife with the same ideas.

There are a lot of things to look at all at once, chief among them our state of mind.

The collective psychological state can be characterized by schizophrenia on a national scale and on international scale such that disallows straightforward war with radical Islam by coalition and sustained to its defeat. France as a nation is psychologically schizophrenic and the United States is psychologically schizophrenic neither nation can be trusted as partner even among themselves in matters of sustained war. Both are unreliable partners for war because both are politically schizophrenic.

Addressing Methadras who follows Armatel in the previous post.

Not a single person is to be trusted in this very long thread of comments on Twitter to an MSNBC article about French Interior Minister saying directly to expect the "dissolution of mosques where hate is preached" The discussion is dragged into the weeds immediately in different directions. What about this, what about that, who decides what is hate, what about when that power is used against you? What about Christians? What about the crusades? Look at all the red-necks, there sure is a lot of hate. As a person who's served, as an atheist, as homosexual, as a person of color who has experienced... Within seconds all this and tons more of the same, these are not the people trusted to initiate, participate, cooperate, sustain war. One's other half is not trusted. One's twin is not trusted. Not one bit, and the feelings being mutual rule out sustained war to success.

Because of this, war cannot be straightforward. Damn, ALL dressed up to the nines and no place to go. It must be otherwise.

Expect mosques to be surveilled intensely without admitting it. Not so much proper services, rather, activities after services. The same with certain neighborhoods.  Electronic surveillance will penetrate even to game consoles. A lot of pin-prick arrests in the night. A lot of things will happen, speech laws will change.

The Left will adjust incrementally even more tautologically left as Obama already has @POTUS Rejecting refugees is not American. It's not who we are. (video), and hours ago, "We must not close our hearts to Syrian refugees." Liberally and reliably flipping to the obvious extreme opposite of the immediate emergency at hand and under discussion for position and for inspection and for introspection, and stay there planted firmly as signpost. Signs of schizophrenia.

Not in the mood to be told who we are or reminded of own history. Vetting immigrants is who we are, and on this Obama is not trusted. We do not trust ourselves. He'll say we have a strong vetting system in place and he will be answered that he is not trusted. Thus schizophrenia. And he's already pulled us into the weeds to discuss ancillary concern and off the discussion of how war is fought far less how war is won, no, our psychological state allows only pinpricks under cover of night without discussion because our national discussions look like the comments section to any related MSNBC article such as the one linked, nothing but weeds. The national discussion will be which freedoms we're willing to cede regarding this type of self-surveillance, such as codes that are virtually impenetrable for everyday messaging, backdoors even on gaming devices, high tech surveillance of mosques and neighborhoods, meta data, data sweeping, all that traded with undeclared war amounting to how much military assets a president is willing to  assemble here and there and for how long a term in place of straight up declared resolutely and sustained war to the end. Sustained all forces all in full on war is not possible for a shattered personality, nor coalitions with other mental patients, only brilliant outbursts possible along with built in and extended covert programs run by governments themselves collectively wildly schizophrenic.

Pissy can't admit he's been wrong, assuming he's actually been trying to find a way to solve this, he'd have a breakdown.

So what happens now?

Do what's left of the adults in DC sit him down and give him a quick lecture on the facts of life, not the least of which is IS would love a shot at him?

Does the Democrat Party come unhinged as reality hits home and what the people want is ignored (remember, corruption that works, has to - the hoodla have to be contained) because Uncle Saul says you never back down?

Does the revelation about Hillary being confused panic the Powers That Are?

Don't touch that dial, bat-fans. The worst is yet to come.

I'm still looking for one fact or indication that Hillary will differ from Obama. She is in lock step with him.

Hillary voted in favor of the Iraq War Resolution; Obama was opposed.

obama is a child, an idiot, a dolt, a moron and his policies get people killed.

John Kerry is a laughing stock as his forces us all to buy into Climate change.

btw- If Climate change causes terrorism - why no California terrorists? I mean - CA has been in a horrible drought situation for many years now - and we are told by our political superiors that Climate Change is the root of all evil and the cause of all terror. So why no CA terrorists?

Obama is an ideologue. Hillary is in it for power and money. She will say anything to attain power, but once given power, she will default to master of crony.

She will use Obama in any way she can to attain power, but it's all a fraud. I doubt she cares. She goes along to get along for the game of it.

Meade said...

"So why no CA terrorists?"

Ever hear of the Unabomber?

Dear corrupt left, go F yourselves said...

That was a while ago. Did uni-bomber commit his bombing out of climate desperation?

That was then. She has since evolved into a position identical with his, so please try again. You could mention the Trans Pacific deal, but since no one has really read it or gets the gist of it, it's a bad example.

Hillary kind of reminds me of you, Meade. When you just hung out at Althouse the blog, you were a right-leaning critic of Obama. After you remarried, you took on that special love for Obama and even admitted regretting not to voting for him. Please describe this spell you fell under. Is it contagious?

Meade said...

He sure did. Read his manifesto.

You remind me of Hillary, chiclet — faulty memory, selective memory.

Yes. I've noticed how very busy you always seem to be.

Ted Kaczynski had a brief faculty appointment at Berkeley. He was Illinois born and bred and Eastern schooled and did his terrorism from a shack in Montana after his stint at Berkeley. He's about as "Californian" as Hillary was a New Yorker when she first ran for that Senate seat.

At least your wife is a better fact checker, Meade.

Leftists always have to go back in time to make a point. Crusades, Bush, Unibomber. You cannot corner them into discussing circa now. It doesn't work.

April, you're the leftist who was looking back in time to "CA [which has] has been in a horrible drought situation for many years".

If The People of France move to the right with each succeeding Islamist attack and the ruling class moves left why does it follow that nothing can be done by The People? There is something called a coup. It has happened a number of times in French and European history and there's no reason why it cannot at least be attempted again. It is a last resort measure but when the leftist ruling class is walking the nation over the cliff it is actually a sign of health that The People try to save themselves.

Nor should America be exempt from such a last resort. Obama's insane perverse response to the Paris massacre, "I'm doubling down on the importation of jihadis," plus all that gobbledegook about America not leading and not winning, all that is an invitation for Congress - hey Republicans, you do have majorities in both Houses - to attempt impeachment. And to question, publicly, Obama's mental capacity to continue in the job.

Methadras said...

Well, it looks like the prince of straw men has arrived.

Methadras said...

No one is seeming to ask why the leftists in Europe and in the US are embracing the death cult in the form of it's young male assassins. What are they gaining from this, why are they so adamant that the importation of people from lands that have declared war upon them all, must be a top priority even in the face of the death they are willing to allow in their countries. You don't think ISIS is going to hit other parts of Europe? It's going to happen. I'm sure they are already stalking all the Muslim enclaves in Belgium, Holland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and what are they going to do then what it does? Invite more in with open arms? Why are these leaders trying to commit national and continental suicide for people who follow a religio-socio-political death cult?

Circa now: Regarding Obama's insistence that the US absorb 10,000 Syrian refuges, even after many state Governors say no. (not hand-maiden Hickenlooper) (and the Paris horror was more than likely fake-refuges)

"We can query our database until the cows come home, but nothing will show up because we have no record of them."

Who said that?

Dear corrupt left, go F yourselves said...

No record of "them" = "them" Syrian refuges.

The thing is I agree with Obama and I do not accept the reports of the few Republican legislators and governors insisting on a halt to immigration. That does not make sense any time especially time of catastrophe partly if not largely our own making. I believe as Obama admonishes we must accept refugees, and they must be carefully vetted and there is no convincing us that they are up to the task. If, as we are told repeatedly the influx will contain a percentage however large or small, of cell-building, cell-joining inclined, are we really big enough for repeated hits? Are we willing to adapt to resist both with intelligence gathering and other social changes such more widespread licenses to concealed carry?

You saw the bald man in the video stand silently when someone set off firecrackers for some reason and set the mourners, gawkers, whatevers there panicking across the memorial they traveled to mawkishly honor. Just stood there. Incredible. It's not that he has nothing to lose. It's not that he's so sad that he's ready to go, no, he knows the sound of gunfire, and that ain't it, he knows everybody around him is a fragile on-edge straight up idiot trouncing across the makeshift memorial, and he singularly knows there is no threat at all. He is the type to calmly take cover and pull out his revolver and start firing back the moment he hears assailants reloading. There will always be his type.

It's a lack of confidence and common sense on the right. Obama is doubling down on his importation and appeasement of terror policies. He released Gitmo detainees the day after a major Islamic terror catastrophe. He doesn't care. He knows he and his millions of morons can scold and shame and intimidate people into cowering silence and inaction. He doesn't care about being "wrong." His followers don't care about looking stupid and blindly partisan. All will be forgiven in Utopia. He is actually using this as a reason to continue his policies.
