Ever buy a ticket in advance for a movie?

That's new to me and seems slippery hype, "Hey kids, I just got my tickets and now I have to defend them until 12/15."

With your laser sword! Voop, voop.

Allegory for the new cultural shift?

'Although black folks have traditionally remained unshakable Democrats, there has been an awakening. As the world slowly turns, they remove their Storm Trooper identity helmet, and seek the truth as individuals, realizing which side is good and evil in the battle they have always been fighting. They realize, that the truth has always been there, looking them in the face, if they would only see it. Once it has been realized, it can never be unseen. The conservative awakens.'

Looks decent - almost as if he's finally learned to retain the best story-telling elements, characters and minimal if iconic battle effects of the first trilogy, without the hokey scripting and effects of the prequels. Hopefully he hired a better screenwriter for the dialogue this time, as well. It makes what he bungled with the prequels look that much more unfortunate - even if the last one had a more interesting and very necessary storyline compared to the others.

Ok, I'll see it. Best case analysis: it will be slightly disappointing but there will be lots of wow special effects. Worst case: it will be like that last Indiana Jones movie. Most great movies are a one off......The second Mad Max movie was the great one. The current one is pretty good, but it didn't have the magic. Eve Ensler of Vagina Monologues had input into the script--or, anyway, story board. I don't recall any dialogue. It was mostly grunts. It brings a feminist perspective to the travails and quest of Mad Max. The movie is fun, but there's something subversive about the story line.
