Ha!

For me it was the play on the word dessert that got me.

That's cool, but how much does that dessert cost? Also, I'm about eating my food, not playing with it. If you want to play with your food, then go to Denny's at 3am and have a good time. :D

What a bummer attitude. I've been told that my whole life.

It's clever as all hecksticks. I'm thinking a cold dessert like a ball of ice cream with cold inverted chocolate bowl. Like a puzzle. Let's guess.

Chocolate bowls are formed the usual way, coating the inside, cooling, and I'm thinking probably cut right there inside the bowl. Chilled to hardness.

The same bowl used to shape the ice cream.

Small edible pedals between layers of cold assembly.

Hot crème anglaise, amusingly French for English cream. It's funny. When you think about how much they do truly hate each other right up to this day and hardly keep it suppressed. Anyway, melts the bottoms, the dry petals and extra stuff between layers, and that the key to it, so the chocolate doesn't simply cleve to the ice cream, pushes the petals off the cold ice cream.

One time at that castle place in Banff, it's kind of cheesy actually, the restaurant with knights of armor decorations and incredibly heavy theater-like red velvet curtains, escutcheons and shit all over, and a very large mostly red dining room, a Japanese family at table nearby. The father held his hands clasped on the table looking stoically ahead as if not even part of the happenings between his son and his wife. His small son inserted his hand into a dinner roll and pounded his fighting mitt fist on the table and into his other hand pow, pow, pow, the kid was having a great time with his food. Disaster to have his kid act up like that, I must say he was adorable as can be. C'mon. I think my bother as dad would play with him. I don't know. He sure does enjoy all the silly things his kids come up with and encourages them. The samurai dad was abashed, you could tell. My brother would be laughing along and taking pictures. I think.

The Japanese mum took care of the boy. It was all her business and that's how it is, the boy is hers until he turns some specific age then the dad takes over. It's quite rigid. The point is, the little kid discovered a brand new way to have a great time with his food, use if for a boxing mitt.

Oh don't get me wrong, there is a time for being imaginative with your food, but that seems overly so. Like I said, it looks cool, but that's about as far as I'd take it. I haven't been to Banff in years. Beautiful place, God's country really and spectacular in the winter. I think you might be talking about the Banff Springs Fairmont Hotel. Never stayed there, but I have eaten in their restaurant as a guest of someone who did stay there once.
