Trump has pushed the debate on illegal immigration towards the right. And rather than blinding us he has opened the eyes of the other candidates to the anger about the issue that exists under the surface and the votes to be found in acknowledging that anger.
Trump will most likely not be the Republican nominee but the net result of his candidacy will ultimately be a change for the better (however small) in immigration policy and a lower possibility that amnesty and citizenship will be granted to the illegals.
Detest Trump all you like, I'm no fan myself, but he has done a good thing for the country.
Iff he builds a wall, secures the borders, implements a strict E-verify system, strips govt benefits from illegals, simplifies the tax code and shitcans a couple federal departments, I will consider his first term a succcess.

A lot of people are falling for Trump based on his current rendition. His past declarations are right in line with Hillary and Bernie Sanders.
