Protestors disrupt Bernie Sanders speech

Bureau of Land Management? [blm, sanders

Washington Post Sanders leaves Seattle stage after event disrupted by Black Lives Matter protesters.

Oh. Those guys again. I wouldn't have thought of that on my own. I wonder if Democrats are active having them all shut up the way Republicans jump on Trump who is presently their party's frontrunner, and his supporters for enabling him, or if the Democrats welcome the additional disruption. Lie. No I don't wonder that.

NBC Black Lives Matter Disrupt Bernie Sanders Speech.

OT, what is it about liberals and megaphones? Why must they artificially amplify their voices at every rally? Conversatives aren't doing that. Libs need a Pete Seeger asking them to pipe down.

But when their designated mouth actually opens up, and lets out the flood of equally ugly and poorly thought-out ideas, we're like, "Thank you Donald Trump for giving voice to what your constituents are too afraid to say out loud. You couldn't have said it better."

You're kidding yourself if you think some of those signs waved by the quieter ones weren't equally ridiculous.

You know what they say after a mass shooting. It's the quiet ones you have to worry about.

The left insists they are victims of everyone, including those on their side, because being a victim is much more powerful if everyone is feeling guilty.

The right insists they are victims primarily of government. They can deal with everyone else like human beings as long as they are not using the government against them. The right doesn't object to you wanting things, even if you don't deserve them. They object to being forced to give you them just because you want.

In order to pretend this makes any sense or give it any equivalence, they exaggerate to the point of ridiculousness. They believe that a guy richer than they'll ever be, paying 15% on carried interest is being treated in a way worse than if he were maimed, brutalized and locked in solitary.

That's what happens when the right-wing tries to pretend it's been victimized and seeks supposed "victims" of atrocity.

The BLM people are loud, but people take their issue more seriously than they take your non-issue of people wishing Porsche would sell tires other than those by Pirelli.

bagoh20 said...

What do you call it when someone exaggerates in an attempt to mischaracterize another's position as exaggeration. Is that irony, hypocrisy...?

We call it Ritmo.

bagoh20 said...

You don't have to exaggerate or pick out one of a kind absurdities to show the extremism of the left. Shitting on cop cars, naked bike riding, naked parades, graffiti, destruction of property, pipe bombs, letter bombs, shouting people down in restaurants or speeches, rioting, having armed men in front of polling places on election day, riots, looting, riots, free TVs and liquor. Oh yea,and riots. And they don't even pick up their own trash - even at anti-pollution events.

bagoh20 said...

OK, I understand that pooping in public is more than just a statement. It's kind of a leftist cultural tradition that open minded people should learn to tolerate, so I retract that part.

ndspinelli said...

Ritmo, Great intellectually honest comment @ 12:50pm. Many black Americans feel that way as well. They get called "Uncle Toms" if they say what you did. You, would be called "RAAAACIST" on a liberal blog for saying that. And, you are more likely to be called "RAAAACIST" by a white liberal, who lives in an all white neighborhood, sends their kids to all white private schools, and has no black friends. I socialize and have black buddies. They are enraged and embarrassed by fools like this.

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

Oh right. I forgot. Nudity and rioting. Horrible displays of things somehow harmful to freedom, and yet, brought to you and embraced by the same people who brought the world democracy, freedom and civilization in the first place: Ancient Greece, Rome, Colonial America, etc. Being uptight and obedient robot-slaves whose only fecal projections come from the mouth of their idol Don Trump is much more virtuous. Saying ordinary people's problems should take a backseat to the super-wealthy is also more virtuous.

What you want Bag, and I hate to say it, is a tyranny of the wealthy - whom you believe should get special privilege and consideration from government over everyone else. As if paying 15% tax or less on carried interest is a bigger public interest priority than all the challenges in life faced by the majority of everyone else.

All this other nonsense about blacks and whatnot is a distraction from that agenda. People can be even-handed in ascribing blame about that. They can't be even-handed when you try to force them to agree to seeing Mitt Romney's "troubles" in life as greater than those of anyone collecting combined interest/wages or salary less than his. That's the reason Trump gets traction: At least the personal problems he bitches about are petty and unrelated to his bank statements. You, OTOH, actually think the GOP has a chance at reviving another plutocrat who will give the hidden message of telling anyone less wealthy than him to go stuff it.

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

I think the trick, ndspinelli, is just to be even-handed about it. I recognize that there is systemic racism and a long legacy of it when it comes to blacks being brutalized by cops, judges, prosecutors, wardens, legislators, whites in general and every aspect of the criminal justice system. But I also recognize that they are their own worst enemy in perpetuating a self-destructive attitude that despises education and literacy with the same passion that Bagoh20 hates those things. They replace a love of learning and conventional achievement with a rage against the system - and suffer greatly for it. It makes it harder for the racism to go away if they refuse to adopt the attitudes and priorities embraced by Indian Americans or anyone else nearly as dark-skinned as they are but without anywhere near the same issues when it comes to bettering one's prospects in a law-abiding society.

...having armed men in front of polling places on election day…

Anyone afraid of Black Panthers in 2015, let alone thinking they pose as great a threat to voting rights as the voting restriction laws pushed by the ALEC/Koch machine (esp. vis a vis limiting voting hours) is a paranoid fantasist living on the wrong side of Nixon's 1970s.

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

Shorter Bag: An armed white man in plain daylight is a virtuous soldier-citizen in waiting, no matter how many movie theaters, army bases, schools, daycare centers, etc., his demographic shoots up in grotesque massacres. An armed black man in plain daylight, just by virtue of going to a polling booth, is somehow worse. Remember, we can't be even-handed when it comes to the 2nd amendment. Rights for whites, not for African blights.

bagoh20 said...

Ritmo, your comments above stand like a beacon of partisan blindness.

If you can defend armed partisans at a polling place, you have no credibility on anything about voting, democracy, or freedom. You should just plead stupidity, because the alternative is far worse.

If the second amendment is being expanded to apply to schools, churches and other public places of former weapons-free sanctuaries from violence, then I don't see why you feel you can unilaterally repeal it on the public sidewalk in front of a polling place. Would you do that to a white arms-bearing man also, or just a black one? Is it his beret that you found particularly menacing?

Ritmo, your comments above stand like a beacon of partisan blindness.

You are wrong, Richie Rich. Even the GOP is getting tired of corporatist plutocracy. They still think tycoons should be idolized, and hence their respect for even a lunatic asshole like Don Trump. But they are sick of toeing the line of giving special consideration, treatment, government privilege and prioritization to corporations and billionaires over the needs of the ordinary people. This is America and your vote is just one of hundreds of millions. Your extra dollars might buy more speech, but it can't bribe the people into denying that their needs are just as important as yours, not less. This has become a non-partisan issue, finally. You are not more important than other voters.

Bag's thoughts on gun control:

Having a gun: Not a problem. (Assuming you're white).

Having a gun while black: Potentially a problem.

Having a gun while black and wearing a beret: Very troublesome.

Having a gun while black and wearing a beret and not interfering with people on the public street productively going about their business: There should be a law against that!

There are actually locales in America where police-community relations aren't that shitty and where the two aren't suspicious of each other just on account of symbols representing some silly and artificial divide between the police and the community they're paid to serve.

But I now see you're backtracking on the whole fear-of-armed-black-men thing anyway, so it's all moot. Just like when Trump backtracks on every moronic thing he's ever said; which is just about every few minutes or so.

And here you sounded as if we were talking about Attic Greece - Lacedemonia, Euboea, Boeotia, Oropia. They're the ones who gave us democracy, not the Euro trash sinking under the weight of Socialism.

Keep projecting, sweetie. The more outlandish your epithets, which do nothing to rebut what I said BTW, the more it becomes apparent the only grease you've been to is what you've had to clean off on your Mom's stove top.

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

And here you sounded as if we were talking about Attic Greece - Lacedemonia, Euboea, Boeotia, Oropia.

That you recite place-names doesn't mean you can pretend that ancient Greeks were body-shunning Puritans as uptight in their sex lives and mores as a no-ass-getting belly-flop in the dating pool as you. If you want to pretend that they were homophobes (which is the utterest of nonsense) then go look at all the art they did that didn't have dudes with boners around each other or in groups. Greek sculpture (and 2-D art) in general was a tremendous advance because of how realistically it depicted the human body, and you can't do that when you're as afraid of it as the pimply-faced impotent worrywart known as "Edoucher".

To repeat, Puritanism of the sort governing Ed's no-sex sex-life was not something with which Greeks were familiar at all. It's over 100 degrees over there. Nudity was normal. Penises were carved onto buildings as a tribute to virility, fertility, good fortune and other things that Ed lacks. "Toga" is a Latin word and was worn by politicians anyway, not everyone in general. The temples at Delos (birthplace of Apollo, according to the legend) had several-meter erect penises carved alongside statues of other gods, demi-gods and heroes - of which the bases, consisting of testicles, remain. They were not monotheists. They were not monastics. They thought it absurd to fear sex the way Ed does.

As there are halfwits, there are also half brains. Ed is one of these. He read a book and incorporated that into his cultural myopia and sexual insecurity and so deigns to project that onto everything that actual Greek people know and can see about their own history.

I guess that's what a guy who has no access to actually seeing anything about the world and learning from the people who live in it is forced to do -- if he's ambitious enough. Ed's ambition to lecture people trumps his ability to actually learn about the world or even visit people who have.

He is the anti-erudition. Schooled in and ready to school you in all the things he doesn't know.

He makes people dumber just by listening to him. Which is, after all, his only goal in life.

And stop calling me "sweetie", you fucking closet queen. If you're going to be gay, go to a club (one that doesn't charge a cover, if you can't plead poverty and get in anyway) and stop projecting your issues onto your creepy comments directed at me - you tiny twat of a man.

Riding a bike naked is just fun - I presume. That Bag condemns it as a failed attempt to change things just shows that one of his bigger concerns is getting the government to keep people uptight.

The other things aren't worth addressing. Apparently someone pissed on his property drunk or something, or didn't have a toilet of their own. Apparently he's the kind of neighbor that invites that, for some reason. But think of all he'll save on irrigation and fertilizer!

The only system Trump was a part of was the system of inheriting wealth, bankrupting himself of it four times, reacting contemptuously to the slightest dare of any personal criticism, and thinking that his unhinged ego and ill-considered vitriol are great substitutes for reasoned policy. Of course, that's a system that 20% of the people love, and Bag's one of them. But it doesn't get anyone into the White House. For good reason.

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

Nonsense. It's humility (real or faked) that gets presidents elected - at least when it comes to psychological attributes. Donald Trumps raging hemorrhoid of an ego is precisely why he'll max out at 20%. You honestly think every other American and more needs to be insulted? Yes, I understand you think you're better than other Americans and that it's only natural for 80% of the voting public to seek humiliation from a supposed superior in the form of a rich man or the conservative politician he bought. But this is actually a false delusion. It's your ego tricking you into thinking people like you for your wealth. They don't.

"Documentation" (to historians, not a nobody in his trailer) would exist in the form of art, when it comes to physical depictions of dress, etc. Ancient Greek olympians competed naked. Their warriors fought naked. (Spartans were well known for this, actually. They slept under the stars and and were raised from birth to endure and exacerbate the worst natural conditions they could replicate). Once Eddddddd finds links of Spartans suiting up in fur coats (like the bankrupted Russian entrepreneurs who tried to revive the industry in Rhodes!) then he'll have actually met the burden of having "provided evidence" for his persistently bizarre and ignorant point.

Average people didn't go around naked all the time. The point is merely that it wasn't considered scandalous to do so. Don't worry, no one's going to force you to parade around your tiny shriveled schlong in public once your teleport-time machine is operational and takes you back to the world you wished you actually knew something about.

Just because he said so.

Maybe he'll pretend he was arguing something else all along.

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

Now Ed argues that the lack of realism in later European art proves that ancient Greek art was all non-realistic. Especially all those orgies and just general nudity on the ceramics. You know, because pottery had no use to them. It was just their own form of pornography that they kept discretely hidden from all guests and onlooker and for the sort of "personal and private" purposes that ed would relate to.

Behold: The contortions of an embarrassingly uneducated man!

Greek gods often had Roman equivalents. For those shocked -- shocked! I tell ya! -- by nut sacks at Delos and Satyr (statues of which are sold in Greek souvenir shops as often as ouzo), I recommend checking out the depictions of Priapus. Fun tidbit: It's claimed that even the Italian cornicello (that curvy tendril medallion worn by not-so-fine jewelry customers in NYC and elsewhere) hearkens back to the same phallus commonly employed by their ancestors as a sign of fertility and good luck.

But I digress. Ed has some educational outrage and cultural myopia to project so let's be sensitive to that.

Well, the Vatican is its own echo of imperial Rome. The emperor became the pope ("pontiff" was a religious duty originally related to bridge oversight), mother goddess Mary had equivalents in the polytheistic pantheon and of course there is the whole emperor-as-god thing that was carried over into the whole "infallability" of a later god's representative on earth. Roman emperors actually were supposed to be worshipped as gods.

And then, you have the gloriously aesthetic Vatican and excesses that seem like outright inspirations of what the Caesars themselves would have demanded.

I'm sure there are many, many others.

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

The realism of Greek antiquity art is the whole reason it represented a revolution in art, civilization and humanity in the first place. Other than for the mythologies (creation myths) that were common to all cultures, there's no evidence that Greek art was more fabrication or fictive than real - in fact, all the evidence points to it being more reality-based than any other culture's art of the time. That is why it was innovative and why Greek culture (nearly the entire basis of Western civilization) was special. Ed needs to read a book.

Desperately and urgently.

He also needs experiences he can't afford. But those things are wasted on people who will not listen anyway. People like him.

Ed, go ask your local televangelist to explain Greek antiquity to you. I'm done talking to the proudly stupid.

Did the Greeks also use defecation as social justice tool, or is that a product of modern Democrats superior technological advancement. I know that the Mongols used an ancient form of liquor store looting to advance social change, but I don't think it was as advanced or common place as it is among the Democrats constituency today. Discuss.

I've often wondered if the horses and saber-tooth tigers painted by the earliest human artists on the caves at Lascaux were fictional depictions.

Actually, I haven't. But ed might.

Tell us ed, about the fictions in those pictures.

Your life (as you imagine it) is a fiction.

I guess that's why you see fictions in so many places and inject them into the realities you refuse to understand.

I'm sorry for the fact of how you exist. If only it were a fiction!

No ed, seriously I'm sorry. You are being pathetic.

Unlike ed, I don't claim to be an expert (although I listen to them and know what I know) - however, I do know that the Greek word for that of which you speak ("kakos") was uncontroversial enough to have auxiliary definitions of "bad" and imported into G-rated words surviving to this day: Cacophony, etc.

I'm sorry you don't feel that the topic of feces has been discussed to your satisfaction. Perhaps you can ask Titus to come over and help you figure things out. He also seems to find things of that nature in the oddest of places.

Ritmo just keeps babbling on, doesn't he?

He hopes somewhere in it all is a rebuttal. Mostly, I guess he takes quotes off the Internet and figures they sound smart.

And he always says how he doesn't want to talk to me anymore but keeps right on babbling at me.

Makes you wonder who he talks to when Mom locks him in the padded room in the basement at night.

That you lack the brain to understand why you were wrong doesn't mean you weren't wrong.

Just think of it as another one of your many failures in life.

What other clothing did the Greeks robe themselves in, Eddouche? Overcoats? Scarves? Fur hats?

Fat suits?

Raincoats?

Trenchcoats?

Galoshes?

Were they made of nylon? Polyester?

Did they have zippers?

Avail the commenters with your vast array of knowledge and wisdom, ed.

Even though you are afraid of your own penis (and who wouldn't be), surely you are very sophisticated in your understanding of things 2500 years ago, 5000 miles away. Populated by people you've never meet. That you'll never meet.

But you are the guardian of everything there is to know about their own direct ancestors.

You are ed. You are powerful that way.

Kind of like Don Trump, but without the money. Any of it.

Or anything else, really.

I just think it's interesting that in Ed's wondrous knowledge of Greek anti-nudity, he informs everyone that their style of (mandatory, universal) dress was known as the toga.

Even though "toga" is a Latin word, describing the dress of the elites of a civilization that came after the Greeks.

How did that happen, Eddie?

Even though you are too good for rebuttals, surely you are not too good to explain your asinine reasoning for wrong explanations of everything under the sun.

Soon, you will receive your PhD in bullshitology.

Make sure you remember to include "words" and "explanations" in your dissertation. Insults optional.
