"What Open Marriage Taught One Man About Feminism"

"When people ask how it started, I say this: We married young."
As I write this, my children are asleep in their room, Loretta Lynn is on the stereo, and my wife is out on a date with a man named Paulo. It’s her second date this week; her fourth this month so far. If it goes like the others, she’ll come home in the middle of the night, crawl into bed beside me, and tell me all about how she and Paulo had sex. I won’t explode with anger or seethe with resentment. I’ll tell her it’s a hot story and I’m glad she had fun. It’s hot because she’s excited, and I’m glad because I’m a feminist. (read more)
I'm skeptical. Do you think this is real?

It's as real as a Titus comment.

It's odd reading so many bits about an article without bothering with the original article because come on, who's interested in the details of that odd verisimilitude of marriage? Huh? Nobody.

You see there is an arc. And the whole arc is more pathetic than interesting. I saw this couple on PBS so I'm like, what, an expert.

And this would be but a snapshot of a moment on that arc.

It all started with something else something minor and it develops if not ends with him tied with ropes in a chair as man of a different race (the essential element in this essentially racist story presented here, the name Paulo, it must be Paulo and not Paul. It must!) and superior size ravages his wife so that she experiences real sex of the animal sort while he is cuckolded shamefully and to his tremendous sexual excitement.

It's a quirk.

Then it develops if not ends with the wife assisting the third party ravaging him.

See? He only thinks he's interesting. He's not. He's only begun his journey into submission.

How is your marriage Lem?

I don't see what it has to do with feminism. The issues are the same no matter which side of the relation ship you are on, and regardless of what sex your partner happens to be. The issues are intimacy, trust, closeness, specialness. Personally, I need it all: total dedication, commitment, and monogamy or else I'd just rather move on and try to find it with someone else.

So he's a swinger and a feminist. How hip can you get?

So this guys wife convinces him that she wants to sleep with other men and that he should be okay with it. Yeah, you are about as feminine as man can get. In fact you are so feminine at this point, that maybe you should give Caitlyn Jenner a ring or two and ask her to borrow her balls... Just to look at... To remind you of what you once were.

If you think it isn't real, picture Alan Alda.

Then picture Phil Donahue.

Then picture Pajama Boy.

Then picture His Poutiness in mom jeans and bike helmet trailing behind a scowling Moochelle.

That's about as unreal as you can get.

Come on now gents, cuckoldry is all the rage these days. Don't be such boors. Enlighten yourselves! Unrestrained sexuality is good for all!

Welcome to the latest taboo to be broken (and break more families). No slippery slopes here, none at all. Polygamy etc. isn't inevitable, especially because it isn't traditional or fair to women economically. Now open marriages with the woman openly cheating in their husband's face, thats just female empowerment and so, so edgy. So hip, soooo coooool man. He's livin on the edge. Especially once he gets the divorce and child support bills. Then he'll be fully into his journey of submission. To his ex-wife, the state, paulo etc..

Cue Aerosmith. Dude looks like a lady works too.

People seem to have forgotten that some things in life belong hidden in seedy places or in the bowels of the internet. But no, we have to put everything on the table, on facebook and on twitter.

If this is real and it does progress to divorce (how not?) the wifey may be in for one heckuva surprise.

I have a female friend who is forking over $1000 a month to the nasty (it happens) husband who told her to leave, refinanced the house in his name and tells her the kids don't want to see her, so she doesn't see the younger daughter, rarely sees the high school boy, meanwhile he requests the child support agency gets money out of her (they both work). Which they did.

She just now got a lawyer. Some women are naive.
