More than two dozen Democrats have proposed legislation that would eliminate the words "husband" and "wife" from federal law.They are never going to be happy.
Those "gendered terms" would be replaced by "gender-neutral" words like "spouse" or "married couple," according to the bill from Rep. Lois Capps, D-Calif.
"The Amend the Code for Marriage Equality Act recognizes that the words in our laws have meaning and can continue to reflect prejudice and discrimination even when rendered null by our highest courts," Capps said. "Our values as a country are reflected in our laws. I authored this bill because it is imperative that our federal code reflect the equality of all marriages."
The Supreme Court ruled in June that the 14th Amendment to the Constitution means all states have to license same-sex marriages, a ruling that effectively ended the same-sex marriage debate in America. Capps said her bill was aimed at taking the next step, which is to ensure the United States Code "reflects the equality of all marriages." (more)

They are terminally unhappy people and they have learned that whining and crying gets results. It will always be something. They are like the Borg: You will assimilate into their sterile boring neutral beige world. These are the people who will try to bootstrap the removal of the confederate flag as a State government symbol to removing the American flag. I didn't remember this last week when all that was going down but there was a case out here in the SF Bay Area where a bunch of school kids rioted on Cinco de Mayo because some other kids at their school were wearing American flag shirts. The school sent the American flag kids home after they refused to remove their shirts and the 9th Circuit (sigh, facepalm) upheld this conduct because the plaintiffs were kids and because the American flag might be viewed as "racist," just like the confederate flag. People like this should go live in some brutish backwater that doesn't cater to every hurt feeling and possible racist perception.
Even Titus doesn't mind Husband and Wife.
And I'll let it go at that.

No, I think they thought it would be all tra la la la la, peace and love.
I recall when the first big Lefty "We Think Gays Are Cool" march came along when Willie was in, you saw a lot of signs saying "I'm straight, but I'm not narrow". They bought all the treacle about how it was just about being equal. They never saw (or wanted to see) how the Gaystapo ground down anybody who got in their way.
But this is what they've gotten.
I know that nearly all gays support gay marriage, but only a fraction of them actually want to get married. And of that fraction a significant proportion will get divorced within five years. I think the gay marriage thing was more important as a cause than as a goal. In ten years time my guess is that the issue will have blown over. (Insert pun.). I don't think we should rearrange the entire grammar of marriage to fit the gender headings of a few thousand gay couples. I wish gay couples luck and happiness, but show a little consideration for the rest of us.......Same deal with transgendered people. I would show them courtesy and respect if I actually knew any transgendered people.
