Colorado

7:30AM I'm thinking, oh that's a lot of weather stacked up. Skyscape, this is the sort of thing artists dream up. This could be big weather all day. But no. It spread out and stayed gray and uneventful all day until evening around 8:00PM the cloud  mass creeped toward the city from the west as it does regularly each day this season, and dropped its water.

Off to the west you can see it all happening but nothing here yet. As the clouds losing water approach you can actually see it wet on the other side of the street and the street itself wet while still dry on the parking lot. The next moment everything is wet.

The wind kicks up it rains. The sky brightens the rain stops. Still bright the rain begins again and develops even harder then abruptly stops. The plants on the terrace never get wet, although the ones hanging get damp.

Everything become still. All the action occurs within thirty minutes. This or something similar happens pretty much every day. I must say it is an engaging display.

This bit is what got my attention tonight. It kills me every time. It does. It's like a Western movie backdrop.

And the snow covered mountains behind them where everything piles up. I could be wrong but I think the snow covered area is Vail valley on the other side.

Oh, by the way, unrelated to fascinating colorful Colorado, a reminder; our federal government has just been massively hacked due to outdated security and ancient code. All personnel records for all federal employees are now in the hands of Chinese who by their incessant action and assault have announced themselves our national enemy. And that is a very big thing indeed. In deed. Worse than that the records for security clearance, 100 page documents each are included in the hack disrupting security worldwide. And today it's revealed the hack has reached Congress. But we will not know anything important has happened, our devoted media will not cover this catastrophic lapse in due diligence to the degree that they should, at length and in painful detail, until heads roll in great number, because there is not a Republican in the White House. How we've all come to expect catastrophe as normal with this administration through Obama, the impervious, so that even violations this serious don't faze Democrats.

Beautiful

I don't think you can see the Mountains near Vail Valley from the front range.

West bound, when you emerge from the Eisenhower tunnel, for a few seconds, if the atmosphere is clear and no clouds, you can see the distinct top of the Mount of the Holy Cross. (in the distance) That range is readily seen from the top of Vail. It's right in back. But no way you can see any of that from Denver.
